This paper investigates the long-term spreading radius of Gaussian beam propagating through the non-Kolmogorov turbulence along horizontal path. Based on the geometrical optics approximation and the property of Gamma function, the mathematical expression of the long-term spreading radius under the generalized modified atmospheric spectrum is reduced. The final expression could involve the power law value of non-Kolmogorov turbulence, the inner and outer scales, and other important parameters of Gaussian beam, simultaneously. The numerical simulations indicate that the long-term spreading radius is much more sensitive to the inner scale than to the outer scale. Besides, the larger the inner scale the smaller the long-term spreading radius could be.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
