This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and which has potential effect web-based realistic mathematics learning environment with the six cultural contexts of the island of Sumatera. The learning environment has the potential to positively impact primary school students. The study employed design research method, which encompassed the preliminary, design, and assessment stages using the Kirkpatrick model. The research subjects consisted of three model teachers and 57 fourth-grade students. Research data was collected through observation, documentation, questionnaires, interviews, and tests. The web-based learning environment's validity level was found to be very high, with a score of 3.32, while practicality was rated at 3.86. The potential effects of the environment on mathematics learning were also deemed to be significant, with a score of 77.35. It was designed to facilitate the teaching and learning of mathematics by the PMRI approach, with a focus on topics such as numbering, geometry, and measurement, while also developing 21st-century skills.
Developing a reading learning media can be an effort to increase students' reading comprehension, but there are many teachers who do not put much attention into it. This research aimed at developing a parenting colouring book as a learning media to enhance elementary students' reading comprehension ability and creativity. The method employed was research and development as modelled by Akker. The method consists of three stages, namely analysis, design, evaluation, and revision. The parenting colouring book was firstly validated by experts on the product, which was tested in one-to-one, small groups, and field trial with third graders in one of the elementary schools in Palembang participated in this study. Data collection techniques employed were interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Finally, the study results demonstrate that the parenting-themed coloring book media are categorized as valid, practical, and having potential effects. Keywords-research and development; coloring book; parenting; reading comprehension.Reference [5] states that learning media are all things that can be used to deliver messages from the sender to the recipient in the form of physical devices or objects, which make communication and the interaction effect between the teachers and the students during the learning process in the classroom. Learning media is one component of learning. As stated by [6] that, "concepts that are abstract and difficult
Developing teaching materials is important to help students in learning mathematics especially for two-dimensional figure by using Palembang local cultural context. The purpose of the research was to develop whether the teaching materials two-dimensional figure-based on Palembang local cultural context are valid, practical, and have potential effect. The research method used research and development (R&D). The research consists of two stages, namely the preliminary stage and the formative evaluation stage. In one-to-one evaluation involved three students. Then, small group evaluation involved 9 (nine) students in the research. Meanwhile, in field test stage involved 29 students. Data collection techniques employed interviews, tests and documentation. The research was conducted in seventh graders at one of junior high school in Indonesia. The results of this study were the developed teaching materials were categorized as valid, practical and have potential effect. The average score of validity content, construct and product design were 3.65 which was very highly valid level. The practicality of one-to-one was 3.47 and small group evaluation was 3.61 which was at very highly practical level. The teaching materials were categorized as effective. It showed that there were 24 students (82.75%) out of 29 students (17.24%).
This study aimed at reporting the implementation of the use of digitized local folklores to empower reading comprehension skills of junior high school students. This classroom action study was applied to a number of grade VII junior high school students. It engaged two stories about Palembang City-the Origin of Musi River and the History of Ikan Belido (Chitala Lopis). Both stories were "packaged" digitally by the use of video, and extended with guided ICT based post-reading activities. Video as one medium of the learning activities could confidently intensify students' interest in learning due to the fact that most students tend to be more visualized. The result revealed that the use of this digitized media positively enhanced the students on the extent of the pleasure, imaginative visual learning aids, and the involvement and touched upon cultural aspects of the students.
