This study aims to validate the prophetic leadership scale by using a quantitative approach. 202 leaders were involved in this study. Data analysis technique that has been used for construct validation is factorial validation with confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), a convergent validation, discriminant validation, and social desirability bias with Pearson correlation. There are 4 instruments used in this study, namely the measuring instrument of prophetic leadership, the measuring instrument of authentic leadership as a convergent validator, the measuring instrument of religiosity as a discriminant validator, and the measuring tool of social desirability as a validator of social appropriateness bias. The prophetic leadership measurement tool measures the same construct as the authentic leadership measurement tool, and measures different constructs from the religiosity measurement tool, and the prophetic leadership measurement tool has a social appropriateness bias or the respondent's tendency to give answers in accordance with norms. The findings raise a prospect that social desirability bias’s influences fitness indices in a scale’s validation.
This study was designed to describe an appropriate parenting model for children in LPKA (Rehabilitation Center for Children). A grounded research approach was utilized and a sample of 15 to 18 year old children inmates (n=56) was interviewed. It was found that family and religiosity concepts are important factors for the children. Parenting model for the children have to involve both religiosity and emotional attachment aspects. The results showed that a suitable parenting model was the concept of religiosity and familyhood. This is obtained through the fostering of religious aspects such as conducting prayer activities in congregation, learning to read Al-Quran, and religious lectures. While the concept of familyhood can be through personal interaction among students and with officers who can build emotional closeness.
This research aims to develop a social desirability scale in Indonesian. The method used is mixed method. Participant in the exploration stage amounted to 400 subjects. Whereas, in the second stage, which purposed to identify a psychometric properties (reliability and validity), participant amounted to 501 subjects. Data analysis in the first stage was open coding. For the second stage data analysis consisted of reliability estimation using Cronbach’s Alpha and test of construct validity using factorial validity with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and convergent validity. The Result shows that the scale has a high reliability coefficient (α = 0.76). Whereas, the test of model fit with CFA shows that the scale fits with the data with index of fit value of Comparative Fit Index (CFI) = 0.92, Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) = 0.93, Root Mean Square of Approximation (RMSEA) = 0.059, and Standardized Root Mean Residual (SRMR) = 0.052. A convergent validity also tested by correlating social desirability Indonesian scale with social desirability scale by Reynolds (1982).
Subjective well-being is a form of evaluation and reflection towards life events which are also very important for imprisoned children in Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA, a special jail for imprisoned children), since they had a different life from the ordinary children. Research of subjective wellbeing on child prisoners aims to gather data about subjective wellbeing of child prisoners in LPKA by resilience and to know the effect on each domains. The research involves 83 child prisoners in an age range of 12-18. This quantitative research uses Resilience Scale questionnaire by Reivich and Shatte (2002) and Integrative Psychological WellBeing Measurements by Maslihah et al. (2017). It Points out that resilience significantly affects subjective wellbeing (p < .05), in many aspects such as academic, organization, association, and activity. Subjective Wellbeing in child prisoners can be improved by the resilience.
