A precision measurement by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer on the International Space Station of the positron fraction in primary cosmic rays in the energy range from 0.5 to 350 GeV based on 6.8×106 positron and electron events is presented. The very accurate data show that the positron fraction is steadily increasing from 10 to ∼250 GeV, but, from 20 to 250 GeV, the slope decreases by an order of magnitude. The positron fraction spectrum shows no fine structure, and the positron to electron ratio shows no observable anisotropy. Together, these features show the existence of new physical phenomena
The stock market data, as S&P500 Index, is massive, complex, non-linear and noised. Thus, the investment criteria using this information have been a challenge. This study proposes the following short-term step by step strategy: to combine two information sources that the investors can analyse to make a decision. First, the index data constitutes the input for a Deep Learning Neural Network training, for representing and forecasting next day stock value. Second, this research identifies the most representative enterprises, included on Index, which represent the Index behavioural tendency, using Feature Selection Analysis. Finally, the outputs are complemented and corroborated; the process shows promising results to improve the investor's decision. Thus, the academics can revise a new experience in data analysis; for the practitioners, the research contributes to an approach for supporting investment decisions in the stock market.
The research shows an alternative to contribute to the learning process of the students by applying educational videos as a didactic mean in university teaching therefore, it intends the innovation of the traditional education process. Due to the factors such as: low academic performance of the students entering the university, the high difficulty module in the bachelor's university course, and the few available times of the students to get tutorial sessions held by lecturers, this research proposes the use of educational video as a support in university teaching process. Taking into account that a considerable number of students have unlimited internet access, not only in their residences, but also in their smartphones, educational videos represent a didactic approach to cover difficult modules. The advantages are the facility to play them as many times as students require in a convenient schedule. In addition, the educational video is made by the National Polytechnic School teachers, garanting its quality The videos also offer the possibility to show complex past exams so the students, get accustomed the methodology. As initial step in this research, trigonometric functions were taken in the fundamentals of mathematic module since it is is one of the most difficulty modules for EPN students in the first course. The results of the new strategy are prosperous satisfactory. Furthermore, students of 12 different courses of fundamentals of mathematic consider that the videos are a support in their learning process therefore enhancing their academic performance. Additionally, the content of the videos have been supervised, so a constant feedback is used to increase the quality of this resource. Finally, two evaluations were done, to determine the impact of the video in their learning process. It is imperative to show that a group of students have taken advantage of this resource, thus improved their learning performance.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
