The present study analyses the speech of the University under which it is recognized the presence of “University Social Responsibility” by questioning one of its participants, the student body. The objective of this research is to provide relevant conclusions to its vision and raise them to the university´s policy-makers. A methodological quantitative and qualitative systematized research was done in the course of two academic years involving 206 Social Education´ students at the University of Valencia (Spain). The study´s goal has been to carry out a participatory diagnosis on the situation of the USR and Sustainable Development based on Vallaeys, De la Cruz and Sasia questionnaire (2008). Among the results it is necessary to emphasize that the students perceive that the university provides them an ethics and citizenship training that enables them to be socially responsible individuals. However they perceive that the value-based policies should be addressed in a more coordinated and cross-cutting approach.

A B S T R A C TThis analysis takes as its focus the Erasmus experience and seeks to obtain information about how it contributes to human development in accordance with the capabilities approach of Amartya Sen and Marta Nussbaum. By way of a qualitative research proposal, and with the support of NVIVO 10 software, evidence is found of the "capacitating potential" of the aforementioned European Union mobility programme. This evidence is detailed through qualitative data-in this case regarding "adaptive capabilities", representing one of six areas of study pursued in this investigation.

en escenarios donde la mediación constituye un instrumento educativo que permite no sólo afrontar de forma democrática los conflictos surgidos, naturales en toda relación humana, sino también ir configurando una cultura de la convivencia. Caminar hacia la definitiva construcción del sentido pedagógico de la mediación es el objetivo central de este artículo, adentrándonos en el estudio comparado de las afinidades y divergencias de algunos de los escenarios donde puede ser relevante el uso de las metodologías mediadoras.
