All programs in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of UIN SGD Bandung are expected to produce outputs that have an impact on improving quality in all fields. Therefore, each program is always maintained its quality both in terms of planning, process and evaluation. The Countenance Evaluation Model is a model that raises broader insights in evaluating the implementation of a program, including the Student Tahfidz Institute. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the Tahfidz Program Students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UIN Bandung in terms of planning, process and evaluation of programs using quantitative descriptive method. The results showed that planning, process and program evaluation had a positive effect on the quality of the
English is one of the basic general subjects that students must study in higher education. Outside the general basic courses, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the Sunan Gunung Djati State Islamic University Bandung held an English language practicum program for 4th semester students. During a period of 4 years, the implementation of the English practicum seemed to be ineffective. This can be seen from the percentage of the attendance of students who actively participate in practicum, only 20% of the total 40 students in the group. The design of this study uses quantitative research with a pre-experimental approach. The final results of this study indicate that of the five components of the English practicum the objectives, methods, materials, time and facilities and infrastructure showed ineffective results.
Potensi yang dimiliki oleh Desa Karyamukti Kota Banjar khususnya dalam pengolahan dan penggunaan pupuk organik seperti pupuk kompos secara simultan terus dikembangkan untuk dapat mengurangi residu pada lahan sehingga keseimbangan unsur hara di lahan daerah tersebut tetap terjaga. Tanaman menjadi subur, dan dapat menghasilkan buah yang besar, segar, dan enak. Pendekatan yang paling tepat dalam penanganan sampah melalui pengolahan sampah terpadu dimana sistem ini merupakan system pengelolaan sampah tanpa sisa (zero waste system) dapat merubah paradigma dari cost center menjadi profit center dengan cara memaksimalkan peran serta masyarakat dan pemanfaatan sampah menjadi bahan yang punya nilai ekonomis.
This research departed from some problems faced by senior high school students in writing argumentative text such as their difficulties to organize the idea, lack of intention in writing, and lack of technique especially in writing argumentative text. The objective of this research was to find out whether the use of fishbone diagram could improve students’ ability in writing argumentative text or not.
This research was a classroom action research. The subject of this research was 34 students consisted of 12 males and 22 females. The instruments of this research were writing test, students’ and teacher’s observation checklist, and interview. The research was conducted in two cycles which included plan, action, observation, and reflection.
The result of this research showed that there was an improvement of students’ ability in writing argumentative text in every cycle. In the pre-test, the students’ mean score was 58.2. In cycle 1, the students’ mean score was 66.7. In the cycle 2, the mean score of the students was 77.7. It could be revealed that fishbone diagram was effective in improving students’ ability in writing argumentative text.
This study aimed to explain the appraisal resources manifested in argumentative essays written by undergraduate students with high and low proficiency level, as well as their similarities and differences of using appraisal resources. This study employed qualitative research in the form of written discourse analysis. The appraisal resources checklist adapted from Martin and White (2005) is used to determine the distribution of appraising items of attitude, engagement and graduation in argumentative essays written by high and low proficiency students. Out of 16 students chosen as the sample, 8 students are categorized as having high proficiency level, and the others eight belong to low proficiency level. The results of this study revealed that both groups of students utilized all subsystem of appraisal resources. However, high proficiency students dominantly used engagement rather than attitude and graduation. Meanwhile, the lows one utilized more attitude than engagement and graduation. In term of attitude, high proficiency students produced more appreciation. It showed that the argumentative essays written by high proficiency students are more appreciative than emotional and judgmental to align their personal voices in conveying their thoughts and opinions. In addition, in term of engagement, both groups dominantly applied entertain item in which it showed that both groups of students are successful to show their authorial voice towards the topic given. Finally, in graduation feature, force is dominantly used by both groups of students which means that they tried to intensify and quantify their arguments to build strong persuasion.
