Self care diabetes melitus adalah tindakan penting untuk pencegahan komplikasi akut dan kronik dan memerlukan perawatan terus menerus. Self-efficacy berguna dalam merencanakan dan mengkaji intervensi edukasi serta baik untuk memprediksi modifikasi perilaku self-care. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan self-efficacy dengan self care pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Puskesmas Tamamaung Kota Makassar. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional study. Adapun penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan besar sampel sebanyak 41 responden. Penelitian dilakukan pada Bulan Mei 2019. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan sebagian besar pasien memiliki self-efficacy baik (85,4%) dan self care baik (83%). Hasil uji Fisher Exact dengan α < 0,05 menunjukkan ada hubungan antara self-efficacy dengan self care pada pasien diabetes melitus di Puskesmas Tamamaung Kota Makassar (ρ=0,005). Upaya promosi kesehatan mengenai self care diabetes melitus perlu ditingkatkan agar dapat menambah pengetahuan pasien dalam pelaksanaan self care diabetes melitus.
Introduction: Self-efficacy in the self-management of DM patients, consisting of diet, physical activity, glycemic control, medication, and foot care. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of self-efficacy with the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Internal Polyclinic Room of the Makassar City Regional General Hospital. Methods: This research used analytic survey with cross sectional design. The study was conducted in the Internal Polyclinic Room of the Makassar City General Hospital in 40 DM patients with accidental sampling technique. The research instruments on the variable self-efficacy used a questionnaire consisting of 15 questions and the variable of quality of life used the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire consisting of 26 questions. Data analysis used Fisher's Exact Test. Results: A total of 6 respondents had good self-efficacy and 66.7% had a good quality of life. As for the 34 respondents with poor self-efficacy, there were 88.2% who had poor quality of life. The test results showed that there was a significant relationship between self-efficacy and the quality of life of patients with type 2 DM in the internal polyclinic of Makassar City Regional General Hospital (p-value = 0.01). Conclusion: The better the respondent's self-efficacy, the better the quality of life, and vice versa. Nurses can begin the nursing process by assessing the patient's level of self-efficacy, then proceed with providing education related to DM self-management as an intervention that can be integrated into nursing services. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan self-efficacy dengan kualitas hidup pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Ruang Poliklinik Interna Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Kota Makassar. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah survei analitik dengan desain cross sectional. Penelitian dilakukan di Ruang Poliklinik Interna Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Kota Makassar pada 40 pasien DM dengan teknik accidental sampling. Instrumen pengumpulan data pada variabel self-efficacy menggunakan kuesioner yang terdiri dari 15 pertanyaan dan variabel kualitas hidup menggunakan kuesioner WHOQOL-BREF yang terdiri dari 26 pertanyaan. Analisis data menggunakan Fisher Exact Test. Hasil: Sebanyak 6 responden memiliki self-efficacy yang baik dan 66,7% memiliki kualitas hidup yang baik. Adapun dari 34 responden dengan self-efficacy yang buruk, terdapat 88,2% yang memiliki kualitas hidup kurang. Hasil uji menunjukkan ada hubungan yang signifikan antara self-efficacy dengan kualitas hidup pasien DM tipe 2 di ruangan poliklinik interna Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Kota Makassar (p-value = 0,01). Kesimpulan: Semakin baik self-efficacy responden, maka kualitas hidupnya juga semakin baik, demikian pula sebaliknya. Perawat dapat memulai proses keperawatan dengan mengkaji tingkat self-efficacy pasien, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan memberikan edukasi terkait manajemen diri DM sebagai sebuah intervensi yang dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam pelayanan keperawatan. International Diabetes Federation (IDF) reported that the number of diabetes mellitus patients worldwide increases every year. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease due to damage to the pancreas in producing enough insulin and characterized by impaired metabolism of fats, increased blood sugar, carbohydrates and protein both absolutely and relatively. Diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) are among the most common complications in diabetic patients and are associated with high mortality, morbidity, and health costs. This study was to determine the effect of health education on knowledge improvement about diabetic ulcers in the regional hospital of Tidore Islands. This research is a quasi-experimental type with a pretest-posttest without a control group design. The research sample consisted of 30 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using a paired test and processed with statistic version 21. Based on the research results, there was an improved knowledge in pre and post-health education counseling, where the average score before health education counseling was 11.6. After health counseling, the average value was 15.0. The results showed the effect of knowledge in the prevention of diabetic ulcers with a p-value =0,000. Health education is an effort to improve patient's ability to prevent diabetic foot ulcers that have been proven in several scientific studies. Health education methods provide additional information so that patients who previously wondered about their disease can directly ask health workers. Health education affects the knowledge improvement of Diabetes Mellitus patients in the Regional hospital of Tidore Islands
Burkholderia pseudomallei adalah jenis bakteri saprofit, bersifat patogen oportunistik, dan sebagai agen penyebab penyakit melioidosis. Bakteri ini banyak ditemukan hidup di tanah, air, maupun pada sawah pertanian. Kasus kejadian penyakit melioidosis telah banyak dilaporkan di wilayah negara Asia, namun belum banyak informasi spesifik mengenai kejadian penyakit tersebut di Indonesia. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bakteri tanah Burkholderia pseudomalllei di Kota Makassar. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak di 11 kecamatan di Kota Makassar, yaitu Mamajang, Tamalate, Rappocini, Mariso, Bontoala, Wajo, Biringkanaya, Manggala, Tamalanrea, Tallo, dan Makassar. Analisis data menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dalam bentuk gambar dan tabel. Kulturisasi isolat menggunakan medium selektif Ashdown Agar. Identifikasi bakteri menggunakan pengecatan gram, dan beberapa uji biokimiawi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh sebanyak 100 isolat sampel, masing-masing 28 isolat sampel positif Burkholderia pseudomalllei dan 72 isolat bakteri jenis lain. Penelitian disimpulkan bahwa terdapat persebaran bakteri Burkholderia pseudomallei di Kota Makassar, sehingga disarankan dapat menjadi acuan untuk penelitian lanjutan tentang penyakit melioidosis.
Hypertension is a chronic disease and a serious health problem in various countries that require selfcare management. Dealing with hypertensive patients requires compliance with their self-care to improve health status. Research aimed to determine the relationship of self-efficacy and blood pressure in patients with hypertension at Makassar Regional General Hospital. It used cross sectional study design. The technique of determining the sample by using a purposivel sampling technique with a sample size of 53 people. The relationship test was carried out using Chi-square test with significance level α <0.05. The results of this study showed that there were 17 patients with good self-efficacy, of which 10 (58,8%) pre-hypertension and 7 (41,2%) had high blood pressure. Whereas there were 36 patients whose self-efficacy was lacking, of which 6 (16,7%) had pre-hypertension and 30 (83,3%) had high blood pressure. The results showed that there was relationship between self-efficacy and blood pressure. in patients with hypertension at Makassar Regional General Hospital with a value of p=0,005. The conclusion in this study is that there is relationship between self-efficacy and blood pressure in patients with hypertension at Makassar Regional General Hospital. For this reason, it is hoped that hypertension sufferers will be more positive thinking so that they are able to think that all diseases are not a burden but an encouragement to believe in themselves so that they can undergo good treatment.
