This research is entitled “An Analysis of Moral Values in the film Hafalan Shalat Delisa: Sociology of Literature Approach". This study aims to describe the moral values reflected in the film Hafalan Shalat Delisa by Sony Gaokasak. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a sociology of literature approach. Qualitative research is research that intends to understand the phenomena of what is experienced by research subjects such as behavior, perceptions, motivations, actions and others by means of descriptions in the form of words and language, in a special natural context and by utilizing various scientific methods. . The source of data in this study is the film Hafalan Shalat Delisa by Sony Gaokasak. In this study, data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, namely direct observation to obtain information. Based on data analysis, this research produces moral values, namely: 1) curiosity, 2) honesty, 3) hard work, 4) discipline, 5) problem solving, 6) commitment, 7) courtesy, 8) Peace-loving, 9) loyalty, 10) helpful, 11) empathy, 12) cooperative, 13) independent and confident, and 14) social care.
The research treats the novel as a unity of thought in which the elements are inter-related each other. The objectives of this paper are: identify a novel, through its messages, is potential to persuade and shape public mindset. One of the outstanding novels is Nineteen Eighty-four (1984), it contains of so much religious endeavors. As a result, this study is conducted to find out the presentation of religious endeavors through social criticism, ethic, moral, behavioral values in the novel. Booker and Barry are used in analysing the novel, and Eagleton is used in understanding of Marxist Literary Criticism. Methods and data collection techniques used are descriptive qualitative. The result is the differences between social classes that cause power struggles have relation of theme. That is the characterization of bourgeois and proletarian in this novel comes up early in the social condition, and it is capable for illustrating the social reality at that time. In the novel, the strongest and weakest appears clearly. The characterization describes how their working conditions, their place, and their live is and how he went down to sees the working conditions down there. The characters and actions in the novel are imaginary in nature, in other words they seem to ‘representative of real life’ which are different, strange, and irrational. Thus, the different between the production and the employment, the owner and the worker, the strongest and the weakest, are subordinate that places as a subject and as an object.
This research tells about translation method of preposition. Preposition is the word that simple to translated, but it is complicate to find the good word, because there are so many meaning in dictionary. Even the translator does not always get the meaning from dictionary. This purpose of research is analyzing the translation of simple and complex preposition used in “J.D. Salinger’s Novel The Catcher in The Rye. And to find out the kinds of translation methods in translating of simple and complex preposition on it. The method of research uses descriptive qualitative method. Technique of collecting data, the researcher uses documentation. Technique of analyzing data, the researcher uses constant comparative method by Glaser and Strauss with four steps are data reduction, data categorization, data synthetization and hypothesis. The result of research is translator use four translation method of preposition. There are literal translation, semantic translation, free translation and communicative translation. mostly translator uses literal translation. Preposition has many meaning in dictionary, that’s why there are no word-for-word because researcher things that translator is process the translation of preposition. There are many kinds of preposition. The researcher dividing become two parts, are simple and complex (Randolph Quirk,1985). Simple preposition mostly available than complex in the novel. Religious issues that are no longer relevant to modern living are represented in The Wonder (2022) film by Sebastián Lelio. This research aims to unravel the Religious Dogma in the film by focusing on examining the religious situation of Irish society in the nineteenth century. Tracing the religious life of the Irish community in the nineteenth century, where the majority adhered to Roman Catholicism, this research uses the sociology of literature method. In more detail, this research applies Max Weber's theory of the sociology of religion approach. The Wonder film entirely is the research data, but specifically, the writer takes the socio-religious context, screenshots from several scenes, and film dialogues as the secondary data. So it can be said that data collection in this research used documentation and literature study techniques. Analysis of the sociology of religion in The Wonder (2022) film by Sebastián Lelio is still rare to find, so this research is essential so that it can add to criticism resources of the sociology of literature. Aside from that, the results of this research are that the modernization and logicalization of religion can occur along with times of development and the relevance of public interest.
