Cities have become the key arenas of territorial competitiveness in the context of creative economy development and continuous innovation processes in all the spheres of social life. Functioning as a community of knowledge, innovation, creativity and learning, modern cities are becoming more dynamic, complex, diverse and open. In this context, new urban strategies and trends need to be taken into account. The concepts of “innovation hub” and “creative city” as a result of the process of creative urban regeneration are covered in the paper. The article states that innovative creative spaces provide unique opportunities to accelerate the generation and diffusion of innovation, especially through effective communication channels and a positive innovation ecosystem. The article covers the topic of architectural and functional aspects and design tendencies of innovative hubs in the structure of a creative city. The research material includes the architectural analysis of existing innovation hubs in Ukraine.
The article “Creation of modern Orthodox churches in Ukraine - “as languages of Ukrainian autochthony” in the context of urban development” is devolved to analysis of the process of revival of Ukrainian church building in the early 90s of XX century and today. It is pointed current research problems and issues. Research papers, publications, abstracts, dissertations, books of recent years by various artists, architects, founders of Ukrainian indigenous architecture are studied. Three main periods of the national architecture of the Ukrainian state (the era of Kievan Rus, Ukrainian Baroque, and Ukrainian Art Nouveau) are described. It is noted that concepts, approaches and methods of designing modern architects of Ukraine. The paper presents architectural psychotypes of the customer of the project, the architect and the priest, and also the model of interaction and influence of sociocultural tendencies on architecture of temples. The paper is supplied with figures and tables. The research provides practical and methodological advice and conclusions on the modern design of temples in Ukraine.
The article analyzes and formulates the characteristic features of traditional Ukrainian landscape design, which had authentic roots and was based on minimal interference in the existing natural environment and its maximum use to enhance the properties of architecture. The purpose of the article is to identify traditional and innovative elements in the landscaping of modern Ukrainian Orthodox churches.The descriptive method, the graphical-and-analytical method, the methods of historical and comparative analysis were used. The main traditional methods of Ukrainian landscape design of the XVII–XVIII centuries are determined. Examples of traditional landscape design of Polish monasteries are given, taking into account the rather long influence of Polish culture on a large part of Ukrainian territories. The modern landscape techniques in Ukraine based on the use of folk traditions are described and analyzed. Two main directions of modern landscape design of territories around cult buildings are defined – repetition of the established receptions (in ethno-complexes) and creative modernization of architectural forms in combination with landscape design (on examples of newly built churches). It is shown how both methods enhance the properties and aesthetic expressiveness of architecture.
