The vocational character of polytechnic education has declined in the last ten years, especially for polytechnic which has non-production-based curriculum. This research aims to reveal factors which have contribution in the devocationalization of polytechnic education, and to find out the alternative solution to revocationalize by considering the current condition and the future demand. This study applied qualitative approach supported by quantitative data that involved three polytechnics in Bandung and Malang, three industries in Bandung, one industry in Yogyakarta, and an expert as representative from the Department of Industrial and Cooperation Yogyakarta. Interpretational inductive analysis was used to analyze qualitative data. This study revealed: (1) environmental factors are very influential factor in shaping the character of polytechnic education and recognition; (2) the greatest gaining vocational character acquired through apprenticeship in industry or workplace; and (3) gaining vocational character needs to be managed by maintain and strengthen cooperation between polytechnic and industries, and competent institution which can develop education system.
Technics withdrawal by accidental sampling is that sampling technique based on chance, that spas are incidentally, that anyone who by chance met with investigators.thus, ini this study the number of samples used as many 50 people. Data analysis method used is quantitative analisis. The results showed the quality of service innovation and significant positive effect on customer satisfaction.ABSTRAK Teknik penarikan sampling adalah secara aksidental sampling yaitu teknik penentuan sampel berdasarkan kebetulan, yaitu siapa saja yang secara kebetulan bertemu dengan peneliti. Sehingga dalam penelitian ini jumlah sampel yang di gunakan yaitu sebanyak 50 orang. Metode analisis data yang di gunakan adalah analisis kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kualitas layanan inovasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan pelanggan.
Dalam dunia pendidikan dalam meningkatkan mutu Sumber Daya Manusia guna memperbaiki mutu pendidikan, pemerintah sudah berusaha memperbaiki kurikulum, peningkatan kualitas guru, memberikan sarana dan prasarana, menyejahterakan guru, perbaikan organisasi, perbaikan manajemen, pengawasan serta perundang-undangan. Tujuannya agar dilihat kinerja yang lebih baik dan mampu menciptakan pendidikan bermutu. Oleh karna itu guru harus memperoleh pengawasan dalam bentuk pembinaan profesional yang dilakukan secara kontinu.
Abstract-The establishment of The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) 2015 allows skilled labour, goods and services product flow freely in the member countries. This situation has increased the importance of recognizing skills of migrant workers. Skills development for meeting a certain job in a profession and recognition will play an important role in meeting the challenges in the implementing the AEC. The skills recognition has expressed with profession certificate ownership. The main problems is Polytechnic as a Higher Vocational Education doesn't develop yet their learning outcomes to be recognized as profession competencies for the students. This study aims to find out the model of profession competencies development by recognizing these competencies achievement. This model was developed from Learning Outcomes of Study Program D-III Electronics Technology (Bachelor Program).Certification aims to increasing the bargaining position of graduates in the transition time from education world to the world of work. Qualitative method used mainly in this research. Data collected by an expert panel, direct observation, document tracer, and interview as necessary. Three strategic industries in Bandung, experts, and Profession Certification National Board (BNSP) has involved in this research. This study revealed that the conceptual model of profession certification can be developed from learning outcomes by selecting, aligning and developing it to be profession competencies standard to do a job in industries. These competencies can be recognized by collaborating between Polytechnic, association profession (expert team) and BNSP. Certification can be awarded to students during the academic course.
Metacognitive is one of the subcategories of learning strategies that consist of planning, monitoring and evaluating. In academic writing, students may have different attitudes towards the use of strategy they might use positive or negative attitudes, namely cognitive, affective and behavioural strategies, depending on personal preferences. This study aims at determining students’ attitudes towards metacognitive strategies based on the three dimensions of attitude. The study identifies how students implement metacognitive strategies at the planning, monitoring and evaluating stages of academic writing. The participants of the study were 26 students in IV-B Academic Writing at the English Education Department of the University of Mataram, Indonesia. Questionnaires and interviews were used as data collection instruments, and all students answered the questionnaire. Six students were interviewed as a sample to verify information from the questionnaire. The study shows that the students have a positive attitude in using metacognitive strategies. The study also indicates that the students, at a cognitive level, are aware of the importance of metacognitive strategies in writing the academic papers. The study confirms that students use metacognitive strategies as the background knowledge of ideas before writing down developing the idea, drafting and evaluating the structure and quality of writing.
