This study aims to describe the algebraic reasoning of students with logical-mathematical Intelligence and visual-spatial Intelligence in solving algebraic problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this study were students of eighth grade students of junior high school totaling 35 students. The results of the research data were analyzed by describing the algebraic reasoning of students with logical-mathematical Intelligence and students with visual-spatial Intelligence on each of the defined indicators. Data collection techniques are carried out by tests, observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the student with logical-mathematical Intelligence and visual-spatial Intelligence in pattern seeking indicators, were able to identify, represent what was known and asked in the problem and find the constituent elements of the pattern. In the pattern recognition indicator students with logical-mathematical Intelligence find a relationship between elements and the similarity of the relationship of each element by thinking about it and accompanied by logical reasons. Students with visual-spatial Intelligence find a relationship between elements and the similarity of relations between each element by conducting experiments by writing down each process completely. In the generalization indicator, students with logical-mathematical Intelligence and students with visual-spatial Intelligence are able to model the situation or problem given and solve it correctly, and they are able to find a general rule that can be used to solve problems.
The purpose of this study was to describe how digital natives as preservice mathematics teachers learn mathematics. The research subjects were 30 students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at the Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques are semistructured interview, questionnaire using Mentimeter, and documentation. Data collecting held in 2022. First, they were interviewed to obtain information on how they studied college mathematics courses such as calculus or differential equations. After obtaining the methods they used, they were then asked to fill out a questionnaire via Mentimeter. From the results of the interviews and filling out the questionare, it was found that their ways of learning were by watching YouTube, reading books, discussing mathematics material with their peers, searching for learning material from the internet, and also using mathematical applications to help them solving problems. Although everyone has different preferences for which method they like the most, in general, they combine all five learning styles. When they were asked to choose the method they liked the most, 50% of them choose watching YouTube; 43% prefer to learn from books; and 6.67% choose to use mathematical application. The mathematical applications they use are dominated by Photomath. Other applications used are Qanda, Brainly, Colearn, Mathway, MathLab, Mathenchanter, Geogebra, Snap Quiz, and Wolfram Alpha. The results show that book is still relevan to use in this digital age.
This study aims to analyze the use of digital media and Ludo Eksponen which has been developed using the ADDIE model in Team Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning. Furthermore, at the stage of implementation and evaluation of the media, it was seen its effectiveness on mathematics learning outcomes, for junior high school students in class IX on the square number and square root material. The subjects of this study were 30 students at one of The Al-Amien Junior High Schools in Sumenep Regency. The data collection technique used direct observation and giving pretests and pot-tests to research subjects. As a result, there was an increase in the average value between the pretest and post-test results, which was 7.54 and 53.65, respectively. By using a Paired Test sample t-test. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of digital media and Ludo Eksponen as manual media in cooperative learning type Team Games Tournament (TGT) was quite effective in improving student learning outcomes on the square number and square root.
