The issue of poverty becomes more serious with the migration of people from rural to urban in search of employment opportunities and a more comfortable life compared to rural areas. The Economic Planning Unit report stated that 56% of poor families are from household in urban areas with their incomes are below RM4,000 a month. The main objective of this study to examine the correlations and regressions among construct of social change and sustainable livelihood. Data analyse using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) software. The respondents was randomly selected using simple random sampling. This study expects to discover significant relationship between adaptation social change of urban poverty and life sustainability. The results show that the human capital and social wellbeing have a significant influence on the sustainability of life. The findings contributes to the social change indeed has an impact on the sustainable of community life.
In this era of modernization, the media has played a role in the development of the country. This study aims to study the representation of social media as a tool for youth volunteerism in Malaysia. Youth mostly use social media and the extent to which social media can contribute and benefit to society. This study's objectives were to identify differences in the level of volunteer awareness by demographics: gender, education, occupation, race, and state among youth in Malaysia. Social media representation is separated into several aspects: religious activity, community and social service, culture, arts, and sports and education. This study involved 98 samples of youths aged 20 to 35, and quantitative research methods used through questionnaire distribution. Then, data collected were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) software. Researchers use frequency and descriptive analysis to examine social media representation and the level of volunteer awareness. The findings indicate a significant relationship between social media representation in religious activities, community and social services, culture, arts, sports, and education. The results show that the representation of social media through aspects of community and social service as well as culture, arts, and sports have an impact and influence on volunteer awareness. Social media representation has indeed played a role in the social awareness of volunteerism among youth.

However, the process of development and modernisation has disrupted sustainability and lifestyle of the society. This study aims to examine the structure and the validity of social change indicators among urban poverty. The participants were 412 urban poor in Kelang Valley, Malaysia. A set of the semi-structured questionnaire were distributed, and the data set completed analyse with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) to obtain the appropriate model for social change research indicator. Next, a series of Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was conducted, targeting to cross-validate the result obtain from EFA analysis. This study postulates suggestion of the reliability and validity of social wellbeing, social capital and human capital as social change indicator.
