Pertumbuhan Kunjungan wisatawan ke Kabupaten Nias beberapa tahun belakangan menggambarkan peningkatan aktifitas sosialekonomi masyarakat Nias di bidang pariwisata. Peningkatan aktifitas sosial-ekonomi ini menjadi salah satu faktor pemicu mobilitas sosial penduduk dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat Nias. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan jawaban apakah mobilitas penduduk Nias melalui aktifitas yang berbasis industri pariwisata dapat meningkatkan status sosialekonomi masyarakatnya; serta bagaimana mobilitas sosial penduduk Nias dalam meningkatkan status sosial-ekonomi yang berbasis pariwisata. Landasan teori dalam penelitian ini adalah mobilitas sosial yang diimplementasikan oleh sebagian anggota masyarakat yang telah memiliki tingkat daya terima (aksesibilitas) yang tinggi. Bekerjanya mobilitas sosial dan aksesibilitas tersebut dapat meningkatkan status sosial ekonomi para anggota masyarakat melalui aktifitas sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian gabungan yang merupakan kombinasi metode penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Penarikan sampel dilakukan secara acak (sampling of random) dengan analisis data menggunakan teknik distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan mobilitas sosial penduduk dengan beberapa jenis pergerakan sosial, diantara pergerakan tersebut yaitu mobilitas sosial horizontal, mobilitas sosial vertical naik, mobilitas vertikal turun, mobilitas sosial antar generasi, dan mobilitas sosial intra generasi yang berdampak pada tingkat aksesibilitas para anggota masyarakatnya. The growth of tourist visits to Nias Regency in recent years illustrates the increase in the socio-economic activities of Nias people in the tourism sector. This increase in socio-economic activities is one of the factors that trigger the social mobility of the population in improving the welfare of Nias people. This study aimed to find answers to whether the mobility of Nias residents through activities based on the tourism industry could improve the socio-economic status of their communities; and how the social mobility of Nias residents improved tourism-based socio-economic status. The basis of the theory in this study was the social mobility implemented by some members of the community who had high levels of acceptance (accessibility). The operation of social mobility and accessibility can improve the socio-economic status of community members through social activities. This research used a combined research method which was a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Sampling was done randomly (sampling of random) by analyzing the data using frequency distribution techniques. The results explained the social mobility of the population with several types of social movements, which were horizontal social mobility, vertical upward social mobility, downward vertical mobility, intergenerational social mobility, and intra-generation social mobility having impacts on the accessibility of members of the community.
The purpose of this research article is to find out the role of the Medan City government in ensuring the welfare of persons with disabilities, the efforts that have been realized by the Medan City government in ensuring the welfare of persons with disabilities and the obstacles found by the Medan City government in ensuring the welfare of persons with disabilities. In Indonesia, all access and empowerment for persons with disabilities are still not effective. This is evident from the lack of provision of public facilities for persons with disabilities, schools or non-formal education for persons with disabilities, empowerment from the government or other agencies as well as periodic social assistance. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research type. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and literature studies. The results of this study explain that the role of the Medan City Government through the Social Service in the welfare of persons with disabilities consists of four aspects, namely: the aspect of the facilitator by purchasing and providing assistive facilities and distributing them to persons with disabilities who have been recorded every month. The regulatory aspect of the efforts being made is implementing all the rules and policies based on the Ministry of Social Affairs Regulation Number 2 of 2021 concerning persons with disabilities. From the point of view of the caalitator inviting social problem institutions such as PSM (Community Social Worker), PKSK (District Social Welfare Worker) and TKSPD (Social Welfare Workers for Persons with Disabilities) and the obstacle encountered is the limited budget funds to buy auxiliary equipment facilities, only 75 units each months, there is a quota (limit) for receiving direct cash assistance and there is no Regional Regulation or Medan City Mayor Regulation regarding persons with disabilities
The School Literacy Movement (GLS) which is implemented in Indonesia in accordance with the direction of the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture (Permendikbud) Number 23 of 2015, is not only the ability to read and write, but includes thinking and behavior skills, namely as the outcome of a comprehensive effort involving all school members, including teachers, students, parents/guardians, and the community, which are components of the educational ecosystem that relies on the role and completeness of school library facilities and infrastructure. The purpose of this study, to describe the application of GLS in Junior High Schools in North Binjai District, Binjai City, North Sumatra. Data collection was carried out following the paradigm of qualitative research, namely observation, in-depth interviews, which were complemented by a study of documentation. The data is sourced from all stakeholders including the Principal, Teachers, School Committees, Students, and Librarians. The results of the study illustrate that the implementation of GLS in junior high schools in North Binjai District still does not meet the National Education Standards (SNP), both public and private schools, so that there needs to be firmness in local government policies and stakeholder commitment to implementing GLS which results in outstanding students, have good behavior and character, have insight into knowledge and excellent learning achievements.
This article is discussing on how the rise and tide of Minangkabau traditional trading occur in Kuala Lumpur. The research focused on four areas in Kuala Lumpur, Chow Kit, Kampung Baru, Kampung Dato’ Keramat and Mesjid India area, reveals that there are some small stalls of Minangkabau traditional trading are now owned by another Indonesian ethnicity such as Acehenese and Boyanese tribe. Meanwhile, some of the businesses are still possessed by Minangkabau tribe such as Nasi Padang and textile trading. The phenomenon is affected by the lack of business innovation, capital, local competitor and the fact that they are unable to follow the trend in business. Even though, there are some of well-developed traditional business run by Minangkabau people in Kuala Lumpur due to the existence of marketing creativity, innovative items, and the conducive partnership with another Minangkabau entrepreneurs in the textile merchant in form of kiosk or arcade in Mesjid India area that has connection with another counterpart of the nationwide including Sabah and Sarawak.
This research aims to describe the process and reveal the origin of social conflict in the incoming oil palm investment. Twelve Subjects are involved in this research, located in Laman Satong Village, Ketapang District, Kalimantan Barat Province, Indonesia in February-May 2019. The results showed that a threat to society's identity meaning which depends on the forest was an origin of social conflict. The incoming of oil palm investment was considered as a threat because of the limited formal communication channel, through socialization meetings This limitation indicated to slow down their stock of knowledge renewal, that related to their future fate. Thus, it creates worries that caused resistance and internal community conflict itself. Academically this research contributes to establishing the social conflict theory and stock of knowledge concept in terms of conflict in the incoming of oil palm investment.
