The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a community service activity on improving teachers’ pedagogic competence in Bawean Island of Gresik Regency, Indonesia. The treatment method was based on a model of special education profession in a remote island by implementing lesson study activity introduced and developed previously on different period of community services. The samples of this activity were teachers from a Junior High School and a Senior High School in Tambak, sub-district of Bawean Island. Ten teachers from those two schools were chosen using snowball sampling technique. The data collection methods used were observation and interview. The lesson study activity implemented three cycles with stages such as Plan, Do and See. The results of this community service program indicate that there is an improvement in pedagogic trait of teacher competence as shown in teacher skills in developing teaching and learning plans, implementing learning and evaluating learning.
In teaching and learning process particularly at university level, High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) should be an integral element to foster students’s critical and creative thinking. It should not only be designed for assessment purposes but also be implemented within classroom teaching process. This study is aimed at analyzing students’ HOTS encompassing three cognitive domains as parameters to identify students’ HOTS namely; analysing, evaluating, and creating. This is a mixed method study which is descriptively presented. The data collection was conducted by employing three observations during teaching learning process and distributing questionnaires to 32 students of English department in semester 5. In addition, students were selected using snowball technique and were interviewed. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches were used to data analysis. The finding reveals that indicators and characteristics of HOTS are presented very consistently during classroom teaching. Students frequently show critical and creative thinking through variety of ways when participating in the classroom teaching process. The Interpretation Card works so effectively and contributes vividly to the HOTS of the students.
Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik bertempat di desa Kandangsemangkon, kabupaten Lamongan yang terdiri dari 2 dusun yaitu : Dusun Kandang dan Dusun Dengok. Mahasiswa Program studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar melaksanakan program PAIKEM (Pembelajaran Aktif, Inovatif, Kreatif, Efektif, dan Menyenangkan). Aktif ialah bahwa dalam proses pembelajaran guru harus menciptakan suasana sedemikian rupa sehingga peserta didik aktif untuk bertanya, dan mengemukakan pendapatnya. Inovatif ialah dalam proses pembelajaran diharapkan muncul ide-ide, gagasan atau inovasi baru yang positif dan lebih baik. Kreatif ialah setiap proses pembelajaran yang dapat menciptakan kegiatan yang beragam, serta mampu membuat media belajar yang sederhana dan memudahkan pemahaman peserta didik. Efektif yakni selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung dalam mewujudkan ketercapaian tujuan pembelajaran, peserta didik dapat menguasai kompetensi serta keterampilan yang diharapkan. Menyenangkan ialah suasana belajar mengajar yang nyaman dan menyenangkan. Media yang kami gunakan ialah media Faskho, media tersebut mengajarkan semua mata pelajaran sesuai materi yang di pelajari, selain itu media Faskho juga mengajarkan peserta didik untuk belajar sambil bermain agar peserta didik tidak merasa bosan dan lebih menyenangkan. Menurut Al Manar Rasyid Ridla, (2008) Faskho/Fastabiqul Khairat adalah (ajakan) artinya berlomba-lombalah berbuat kebaikan, sehingga di dalam permainan ada dua kartu yang berisi tentang soal-soal negatif dan positif.
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted education, so we need suitable media, especially for listening skills; one of the right platforms is liveworksheets. Liveworksheet provides many convenient features and a creative, innovative, and interactive platform in which there is an added interest for online learning to activities that show their listening skills ability. This study aimed to determine the students' listening skill ability and perspectives through liveworksheet platform. This study uses a quantitative method, and uses questionnaires also test survey instruments. The participants of this study were 52 students grade 2 at Ban KaengSriphum Junior High School, Loei, Thailand. The results showed that from the pre-test and post-test, liveworksheet can help student to their listening skill ability. Then, 50.9% of students strongly agree that listening lessons are essential, 43.4% strongly agree that the liveworksheet is an effective platform, 44.2% strongly agree that the platform needs to be maintained, 43.4 % strongly agree that liveworksheets are the expected media, and 39.6% of students strongly agree that liveworksheets are easy to reach media for listening skills. From these results, it can be said that liveworksheets platform can help students in listening skills ability.Keywords: Students Perspective, Liveworksheet, Listening Skill Ability
