<p><em>West Kalimantan Province, as one of provinces in Indonesia which has specific geographical condition is bordering with East Malaysia through official Cross-Border Post between Entikong and Tebedu, Badau and Lubuk Antu, Aruk and Biawak, and no less than fifty path ways (not official) can be passed to get in and get out to and from East Malaysia region. This geographical encouraged trafficking improvement to abroad with various modes. In fact, trafficking was affected by many factors, including stigma, poverty, lack of education, family resilience, and other factors, where women and children are the victim. The aim of this research to reveal how is the legal protection for the victim. Although there were many studies had been done about it, but the focus of this research is the obstacles face to give legal protection for the victims of trafficking in West Kalimantan border, where the top of the problem is victims role, sometimes they don’t realize that they are the victims, so legal protection effort as stipulated in Trafficking Rules was not optimal. Through socio-legal research found an interesting thing, the lack of victim realized they were victims who have to get legal protection, so complicated a legal assistant for legal effort. Beside of that, trafficking as transnational crime and organized, it is complicated for legal enforcement, because of trafficking perpetrators are in the state border cross.</em><em> </em><em>The abstract contains: research objectives, implementation methods, analysis techniques and activity results. This study aims to investigate the strategies and efforts that should be made to increase community law empowerment in breaking the chain of distribution of Covid-19 in the new normal era. Covid-19 has brought about a change in people's lives known with a new-normal term, where people must always comply and obey the health protocols to break the chain of its spread. Various policies have been issued by the Government, including the province of West Kalimantan, which has issued the strictest policy on the application of discipline and enforcement of the Health Protocol. It is qualitative research, whereas the data of this study are qualitative in descriptions, exposures, and writings referenced from books, journals, and articles. For analysis, the data is sorted, categorized (grouped) into groups, and then the contents are critically analyzed, so that concrete formulation is formulated, which are then explained in depth. The result of the research is that the strategy of indirect legal counseling by utilizing social media facilities can educate the public to comply with legal rules related to breaking the chain of covid-19 spread towards the new normal era. This public education is needed to understand and build legal awareness of the community on how to deal with the new life order amid the Covid-19 pandemic. It is hoped that this intense and continuous legal communication will have implications for realizing community legal empowerment in breaking the chain of the spread of Covid-19.
Covid-19 has a significant impact on the life of the Indonesian, including fulfilling the right to education for children. With the social distancing, the Ministry of Education in Indonesia issued a policy by closing schools and replacing the teaching and learning process using an online system. However, there are obstacles during online learning. One of them is parents' unpreparedness to accompany their children. It is necessary to build motivation for parents or families, especially mothers. Children as the goal of education and the realization of child protection have been regulated in legislation. The authors conducted the community service activity with an online legal counseling method to Family Welfare Movement Team (here and after called TP-PKK) in Regency/City throughout West Kalimantan. In conclusion, TP-PKK has a role in creating child protection in fulfillment of education rights during the Covid-19 pandemic. Legal counseling could be carried out widely and sustainably to motivate parents or families to assist their children in the online learning process, so child protection is realized
Providing legal aid to the poor in West Kalimantan was one of the state's role manifestations in providing legal protection as ruled by 16th Indonesian Law of 2011 on Legal Aid. In fact, the authors found that most of the poor society in West Kalimantan faced the difficulty to access the legal aid. It was caused by the lack of verified legal aid providers in West Kalimantan. The aim of the study was finding the solution to maximize the legal aid providers within giving the legal aid to the poor society. Through unstructured legal method, the study found that there was a legal vacuum of the unruled mechanism which institutions that provide verification of legal aid institutions established by the Local Government. The implication of the study gave a recommendation in the form of legislation revision that legal aid regulations need further arrangements in the 16th Indonesian Law of 2011 on Legal Aid.
