This study aimed to determine the effect of the application of the STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) type of cooperative learning model to improve students’ motivation and learning outcomes on heat in seventh-grade SMP Negeri 14 Pontianak. The research method used in the study is experimental in the form of a pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design model. The sampling technique used in this study was intact group technique and obtained seventh-grade in A-class with a total of 30 students. The instrument of this research was a learning outcome test consisting of 10 multiple choice questions, 3 essay questions, and a learning motivation questionnaire, which consisted of 4 sub variable (success orientation, failure anticipation, innovation, and responsibility). Based on the results of data analysis, pretest and posttest learning outcomes showed an increase in learning outcomes as evidenced by an increase of 53,88%. The result of the Wilcoxon test with SPSS Statistics 17.0 shows that there has been a significant in student learning outcomes. The effect size of the STAD type cooperative learning model in improving learning outcomes is 1,34 (high category). In the result of the learning motivation questionnaire, an average of 67,75% was obtained before the STAD type cooperative learning model was used which was categorized as sufficient, and 85,73% before the STAD cooperative learning model was used which was in the good category. There is an increase in learning motivation by 19,98%. The results of the study are expected to be an alternative to increase student motivation and learning outcomes on heat.Keywords: Application, STAD, Learning Motivation, Learning Outcomes, Heat
This study aims to determine the level of thinking skills of students in solving Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) questions about simple aircraft material which are then analyzed with the help of the winstep program from Rasch modeling. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a survey method. Data collection by giving a test, HOTS-based questions with cognitive levels C4 and C5 as many as 15 items in multiple choice form. Subjects in this study amounted to 120 students that is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pontianak. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the average level of thinking ability of students in solving HOTS questions about simple aircraft material is 59% in the moderate category. The level of thinking ability of students at each cognitive level can be concluded that the average thinking ability of students at the cognitive level to analyze (C4) is 50% with the medium category, and at the cognitive level evaluating (C5) by 44% with low categories. The level of thinking skills of students on each simple aircraft sub-material can be concluded that the average thinking ability of students on the lever material is 37% with the medium category, on the inclined plane material, namely 52% with the high category, and the pulley material is 35% in the low category. Based on the results of this analysis, it shows that on average students have not been able to solve questions with more complex characteristics or a high level. Therefore, This research is expected that students can be trained in solving problems at a higher level in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum.
This study aims to determine whether there is a difference in the learning outcomes of students who are given the application of the cooperative learning model type NHT assisted by snake and ladder media with students who are given the usual learning model on solar system material in class VII SMP Negeri 23 Pontianak and know the effect of cooperative learning type NHT assisted by snake and ladder media. The form of research used is quasy experimental design with a nonquivalent control groub design. The population in this study were students of class VII SMP Negeri 23 Pontianak. Data collection was done by using measurement techniques. The data collection tool was a learning outcome test in the form of an essay consisting of 15 questions with a reliability level of 0.42. Based on the results of posttest data analysis using the Mann Whitney U test with α = 5% Zhitung (-2.25) and Ztabel (1.96). The result of the effect size calculation is 0.79, which means that cooperative learning type NHT assisted by snake and ladder media has a high influence on student learning outcomes.Keywords: NHT, snake media, Solar System
This meta-analysis aims to determine the effect of research characteristics on the effect size of the direct instruction learning model in the undergraduate thesis of the Physics Education Study Program FKIP UNTAN, published in 2016-2019. This type of research is a survey research with purposive sampling technique consisting of 6 theses. Data collection techniques in this research are documentary studies. The results of undergraduate thesis Physics Education study programs that use the direct instruction learning model obtained an average effect size of 1.00 which high effectiveness categories based on the John Hattie barometer. In this study, there are 2 characteristics of researchers examined, among others: the gender of the researcher and Grade Point Average (GPA) of the researcher. Based on the 2 characteristics of the researchers, it did not have a significant effect on the effect size of the undergraduate students' thesis in the Physics Education study program that uses the direct instruction learning model. In this study there were 13 characteristics of the methodology studied including: research location, school level, sample size, number of classes, number of meetings, material sub-fields, learning tools or media, test reliability coefficient, instrument validity, test forms, forms of research, designs experiments, and data collection tools. Of the 13 characteristics of the methodology, it did not have a significant effect on the effect size of the undergraduate students' thesis in the Physics Education study program that used the direct instruction learning model.Kata Kunci: Meta-analisis, Skripsi, Model Pembelajaran Direct Instruction
This study aims to determine the effect of using the Cisco Webex application in onlinephysics learning on the material of quantities and units on student learning outcomesat SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak. This research is a quantitative research. The datacollection technique was carried out using pretest-posttest questions. The experimentaldesign used is a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest design. Thesample in this study was 33 students of class X MIPA 1 for the academic year2021/2022. Statistical analysis used was Shapiro Wilk test to test the normality of thedata, and Wilcoxon signed Rank to test the hypothesis. Based on the student learningoutcomes data, it shows that the Z value (Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test) is -3.244 with ap value (Asymp. Sig 2 tailed) of 0.001. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an increasein student learning outcomes in the material of quantities and units in online learningat SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak after learning using the cisco webex application. So it ishoped that the results of this study can improve the quality of online learning during theCOVID-19 pandemic.Keywords: Cisco Webex Application, Learning Outcomes, Quantities and Units.
