The practice of code mixing in Instagram online shop advertisements is common in Indonesia, however, not much research has been conducted with regards to the government's regulation on the use of language on social media. This study aims to investigate the use of code mixing in e-commerce on Instagram. The method used in this research is qualitative using observation techniques, documentation and interviews. Data were taken from 10 Instagram account online shop advertisements by using purposive sampling. This study indicates that the use of code mixing occurred in the forms of words, phrases, and clauses. In addition, there is also internal code mixing, namely in the form of affixes. It turns out that this codemixing practice was motivated by their intention of making their communication more relaxed and flexible. In conclusion, the code-mixing practice of instagrammers in making online shop advertisements is not in line with the government's regulation pertaining to language use on social media.
The success of Reading to Learn (R2L) in improving literacy skills in several countries in the world encourages teachers in Indonesia to implement it. In accordance with the national literacy movement program developed by the government, this strategy will greatly assist the ability to read and to write of Indonesian students, not only for foreign language learning but can also be applied to local language learning. For this reason, this study aims to study to what extent the reading to learn the strategy (R2L) helps the students of Sundanese Language Education at UPI in improving their writing skills. This study employed action research by using data recording techniques and documentation. The results revealed that there are difficulties faced by students in Sundanese language writing as the result of an incorrect understanding of concepts in learning at primary, secondary, and high school levels. However, after implementing the R2L strategy it turns out that the effect is quite good as it is seen from the students writing improvement exposed in each cycle. It can be concluded that the R2L strategy implementation is very helpful for students both in writing appropriate Sundanese language and understanding the reading text. This strategy can also be implemented in local language teaching and learning at each level.
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perbedaan variasi bahasa masyarakat dalam satu wilayah bahasa yang bisa mengakibatkan perbedaan pemahaman. Seperti diungkapkan dalam geografi dialek bisa saja hal tersebut dilatarbelakangi oleh lapisan masyarakat berdasar usia, pekerjaan ataupun pendidikan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif, dengan observasi, wawancara, kuesioner dan analisis padan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai kondisi kebahasaan masyarakat Pangandaran Kecamatan Sidamulih khususnya dalam kajian fonologi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menjelaskan dialek masyarakat kecamatan Sidamulih Pangandaran yang berkaitan dengan fonologi, yaitu penambahan vokal ataupun konsonan dalam kata yang digunakan dan perbedaan semantis dari variasi bahasa yang digunakan. ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by language variation differences in one area of the language that can lead to differences in understanding. As expressed in the geography of the dialect, it can be caused by the differenciation of the society based on age, occupation or education. The method used is descriptive method, with observation, interview, questionnaire and comparative analysis. The purpose of this study is to obtain a description of the language condition of Pangandaran people in Sidamulih especially in the study of phonology. The results of this study explain the dialect Pangandaran people in Sidamulih that related with phonology. It reveals that there is the addition of vowel or consonant in the word used and the semantic difference of language variation used.
The national literacy movement must be supported by all parties and implemented comprehensively, not only at school but also at home. Literacy education should be started early from home by parents, especially mothers, because reading activities together between parents and children have been proven to be able to develop children's literacy. Therefore, this Assisted Village Service activity, which focuses on Read Aloud training for mothers, is important to carry out. The Read Aloud training is to train mothers to read children's story books, to produce a deep understanding of the importance of introducing literacy to children from an early age in October 2018. This fostered village service involves several mothers who have toddlers and other women's associations such as people's associations. PAUD parents in the Sariwangi Village area, West Java. This activity trains mothers in selecting stories for children and reading stories to and/or with children.
