Background: The use of smartphones increases in Indonesia, its users are no longer among adults but have also spread to teenagers and children. Smartphone addiction causes a variety of problems, both physical, social, behavioral, and psychological problems of adolescents.Objective: The objective of this study is to identify the association between the tendency of smartphone addiction and the occurrence of emotional mental disorders in adolescents of junior high school students in Samarinda.Methods: This study used a descriptive analytic design through cross-sectional approach conducted in junior high schools in Samarinda. Sample of this study were 127 students. The 20 self-questionnaire adopted from the 2013 Basic Health Research questionnaire was used to measure emotional mental disorders, and the Smartphone Addiction Scale - Short Version (SAS-SV) questionnaire was used to measure smartphone addiction. Data were analyzed with multiple logistic regressions.Results: Results showed that there was an association between smartphone addiction and emotional mental disorders among junior high school students in Samarinda (p < .05). Adjusted Odds Ratio (AOR) was obtained at 2.418 (95% CI was 1.033 – 5.660).Conclusions: Smartphone addiction may lead emotional mental disorder among Junior High School students. The decisive rules are needed in the use of smartphones, both at school and at home to prevent the occurrence of smartphone addiction.
Parental involvement in fostering the character of child discipline in school. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to explore the role that parents play in improving the character of children's discipline in school. Methods: The study population consisted of 7 elementary schools with a target sample consisting of 8 school personnel and 27 parents. Data were collected using questionnaires and interviews to be analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Findings: The most common problem at school is the dynamics of child discipline. The discipline of parents in their children's education can improve discipline, self-esteem, cognitive development, social interaction skills, and academics as a whole. The role of parents in encouraging student discipline, it is clear that parents must be involved as shown by most respondents (66.67% of parents and 62.50% of teachers). Conclusions: Designing interventions aimed at harmonizing parental and teacher assessments in certain activities related to primary school education will be beneficial in fostering child discipline character education. The results of this study also have implications for child care and protection.
Objective: Assessment is an important for learning and teaching and is an important component for further development if they use the right approach. This study focuses primarily on how formative assessment, as a type of favorable assessment, can be an effective contributor to increasing student motivation in learning English. Method: This study explores the results of formative assessments through questionnaires for 24 students and 5 for teachers, in the SMA 1 Alla-Enrekang, where English is taught as a foreign language. Result: It is assumed that formative assessment has a major influence on what students learn and how the teacher validates. Discussion: Formative assessment can help teachers anticipate initial concerns for student disparity in the development of learning. Therefore, this assessment method cannot accurately assess the frequency of student acquisition, because it varies from one teacher to another and subjects with other subjects.
Abstrak Diabetes melitus merupakan penyakit kronis yang kejadiannya semakin meningkat dari tahun ketahun. Penyakit ini dapat menimbulkan berbagai komplikasi pada organ tubuh, salah satunya resiko kaki diabetik. Setiap tahunnya 4 juta penduduk di dunia mengalami ulkus kaki yang bertendensi terhadap kejadian amputasi. Perawatan kaki yang tidak rutin merupakan faktor resiko terbesar terjadinya ulkus diabetik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan perawatan kaki dengan resiko kaki diabetik pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Puskesmas Lempake Kota Samarinda. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional sebanyak 70 responden. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Variabel yang diukur meliputi variabel perawatan kaki dan variabel resiko kaki diabetik. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi kuesioner Nottingham Assesment of Functional Foot Care (NAFF) dan Screening Tools Inlow’s 60 second diabetic foot. Analisis korelasi menggunakan uji statistik sperman rho untuk melihat kemaknaan hubungan dari dua variabel dengan taraf signifikansi 95% (α=0,05). Hasil penelitian diperoleh kegiatan perawatan kaki berada pada nilai rata-rata 37,74±5,14 dan resiko kaki diabetik 7,07±3,10. Analisis bivariat menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara perawatan kaki dengan resiko kaki diabetik (p value 0,04) dan nilai korelasi -0,24. Mengingat perawatan kaki merupakan salah satu faktor resiko yang dapat dilakukan untuk mencegah kaki diabetik. Sehingga dipandang perlu diaplikasikan dalam perawatan kesehatan masyarakat melalui pengembangan model keperawatan komunitas. Kata kunci : diabetes melitus, perawatan kaki, resiko kaki diabetik
Salah satu bidang yang telah dipengaruhi secara signifikan di era pandemi C-19 adalah pendidikan di semua jenjang. Saat ini, banyak akademisi tidak memahami nilai pembelajaran online atau berusaha menjadi dosen online yang lebih baik. Dosen terkadang menemukan kegagalan dalam membuat hubungan antara apa yang kita lakukan di kelas fisik dan apa yang kita lakukan di kelas online. Padahal kelas online akan terus berkembang dari tahun ke tahun. Banyak akademisi tampaknya percaya bahwa mahasiswa harus dapat berjalan sendiri melalui pembelajaran online tanpa perlu bimbingan, itu merupakan suatu bencana. Pengajaran daring yang baik mengharuskan dosen melakukan upaya ekstra untuk membantu mahasiswa bertahan, belajar secara mendalam, dan mengalami transformasi sebagai hasil dari kelas daring. Hal itu membutuhkan kesadaran akan tantangan pendidikan online dan membutuhkan pemikiran yang cermat dan perencanaan yang baik. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mendorong akademisi untuk berusaha merumuskan bagaimana menjadikan pedagogi online seefektif mungkin di era new normal dengan berusaha menerapkan dan membawa prinsip pembelajaran tatap muka ke kelas online. Semoga makalah ini, mampu membawa semangat kita dari ruang kelas fisik ke ruang kelas online dengan baik. Karakateristik pengajaran yang baik adalah keinginan untuk terus menjadi lebih baik.
