ABSTRACT When the Covid-19 pandemic was established, various countries made efforts to prevent the transmission of the disease; Indonesia is no exception. One way to break the chain of transmission is to disinfect. This article is a scoping review with the aim of getting an overview of the implementation of disinfection in preventing Covid-19 transmission in public areas and possible health risks posed in several regions in Indonesia. The data/information were collected by searching websites of various ministries/institutions and online media within 3 (three) months, starting from March 2020 (establishment of the Covid-19 pandemic) until May 2020. Data and information collected includes location, procedures, and targets of disinfection, as well as disinfectants used, and their effects on health. Data analysis was performed descriptively. The results showed that disinfection in public areas were conducted in offices, health facilities (hospitals and health centers), housing, shopping centers/malls/market, transportation areas (highways, terminals, bus stops, and vehicles). Disinfection has been carried out by spraying directly on surfaces/objects that are often touched and by spraying in the disinfection booth using irritant disinfectants. It can be concluded that the implementation of disinfection in public areas has the potential to cause health risks. It needs supervision in the implementation of disinfection, socialization and education about potential health risks to the community. Sustainable Development Goals require the capacity for resilience and adaptation to climate-related disasters to be strengthened. This capacity is fundamental in healthy city development, which also highlights the importance for youth to have it as early as possible. Therefore, it is crucial to understand their current state before building their capacity. This study aims at measuring the level of knowledge and attitude of junior-high-school students in Bogor City, West Java Province, Indonesia, on health impacts of climate change and identifying predictors of such knowledge and attitude. A cross-sectional study involving purposively selected 142 students aged 12 to 14 years old in a state-owned junior high school was implemented in 2015. A structured questionnaire was used to mine data regarding the knowledge of and attitude towards climate change health impacts, ownership and utilization of information access, school subject, and supports from close related person. Bivariate analysis was conducted with Chi-square test and multivariate analysis with logistic regression at 0.05 significance. Eighty-two female and sixty male students took part in this study. The proportion of students with good level of knowledge on the health effects of climate change was 69%; meanwhile, 51.4% of the students had less supportive attitude toward the issue of climate change health impacts. The multivariate analysis revealed that an association occurred between the knowledge level and family income (income of IDR 2.5-5 million: AOR 4.63 95%CI 1.26-17.04). Similarly, the level of attitude was associated with maternal education (AOR 2.37 95%CI 1.05-5.34). These results suggest that, in climate change impacts, knowledge is not necessarily in line with attitude and family background has a major role to shape both aspects. Health promotion efforts on climate change health impacts should touch on family experience.
Research are limited in term of which specific demography and geography aspects in Indonesia while stronger strategic intervention to prevent obesity in adolescents is needed. Objective: This study aims to describe proportion of obesity in indifferent adolescents characteristic and eating behaviour in different regions. Method: This study used data from Indonesia 2015 Global School-based Health Survey developed by US CDC and WHO) with modification based on Indonesia specific. The analysis included 10,544 students covered national representative and three regions of school students (grade 7 to 12) in Indonesia. Statistical analysis used chi square and log regressions. Results: The logistic model showed adolescents students living in Java island has significantly higher risk of obesity (adjusted OR 2.1;95%CI 1.3-3.3) compare to their peers in outside Java and Sumatra Island, while behavior risk factors such as physical activity and dietary habit were not significantly associated with obesity. Conclusions: Issues disparity of obesity in adolescents occurred in the three main Islands in Indonesia, in different school grades and in those with different dietary risk behaviours. Intervention strategy to address adolescents obesity issues will need to be directed toward school-based settings with taking into account specific approaches for students in Sumatra and other main islands in Indonesia as well as specific for junior and senior high school.
