The purpose of this study was to investigate the leadership practices of Indonesian Islamic boarding school ( pesantren ) leaders, school principals, and teachers in responding to the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, to ensure the continuation of boarding school education in the “new normal” period. Generated using a moderated focus group discussion with principals and teachers, the findings suggest that principals' and teachers' leadership practices are acceptable in the policy, social support, and financial dimensions but still lack structural and teaching aspects about conducting blended learning. Based on this study's findings, pesantren leaders ( kyai ) and school principals should pay attention to training programs for implementing blended learning for teachers. The government is encouraged to assist in providing technical facilities pesantren can implement blended learning more effectively.
One of the issues which has been attracted by Muslim scholars is the religious moderation mainstreaming. Pesantren, as the oldest and indigenous educational institution in Indonesia, is inseparable from such issue. This study examines the development of moderation a basic idea of pesantren. This paper is divided into three parts. First is introducing the articulation of moderation in pesantren from various perspectives. Second is discussing the idea of Arkoun and al Jabiri’s ideas and its relation on moderation and pesantren. Third is elaborating the moderation of pesantren from its curriculum’s and extracurricular activities. This paper concerned on how Islamic moderation has shaped and disseminated through the learning process in pesantren?. Furthermore, this research was conducted at five pesantren in Kediri, East Java by considering their typologies and management. By using the interview method, literature study and in-depth observation, this research has produced data related to the research theme. Then, the results of research are to explore the complexity and continuity of Islamic moderation in pesantren and to prove that moderation mainstreaming in the grassroot is not static but flexible and dynamic as well as being fluid and multi-dimensional through the learning process and the extracurricular activities.
Tracing back through the historical line of IndonesianIslamic Schooling, the management model of gender segregation can be analyzed explicitly. This research will trace the model of gender's segregation which concerned on the management of learner and it involving the indicators of gender analysis, namely the access and the participation as well as the Gender Analysis Pathway (GAP). This research conducted in MA Sunan Pandanaran Yogyakarta due to some scientific reasons. From the brief explanation above, the research will be concerned on: First, the management of learner and its relevance on the model of gender's segregation. Second, analytical relationship based on the indicators of GAP and the indicator of access as well as participation of learners. To sum up, Islamic school had the unique model of relationship between gender and the management model in the learning process; it is classified into the biased-gender and the neutral-gender. Abstrak. Menelusuri kembali melalui kajian kesejarahan dari perkembangan lembaga pendidikan islam di Indonesia, model manajemen dengan mengedepankan segregasi gender dapat ditemui secara eksplisit. Penelitian ini akan mengkajinya model segregasi gender yang berfokus pada tata kelola peserta didik dan itu melibatkan analisis indikator gender yang meliputi indikator Akses dan Partisipasi serta analisis melalui GAP. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada MA Sunan Pandanaran Yogyakarta dilatarbelakangi oleh beberapa pertimbangan akademik. Dari penjelasan singkat diatas, penelitian ini akan berfokus pada: 1). Tata kelola peserta didik dan kaitannya dalam model segregrasi gender. 2). Analisis keterkaitannya didasarkan pada indikator GAP dan indikator akses serta partisipasi dari peserta didik. Kesimpulannya, Lembaga pendidikan Islam mempunyai model relasi yang unik antara konsep gender dan model tata kelola peserta didiknya dalam proses pembelajarannya, hal itu diklasifikasikan dalam dua model, model bias gender dan model netral gender. Kata Kunci: Segregasi Gender; Lembaga Pendidikan Islam; Tata Kelola Peserta didik. PENDAHULUAN Penelitian ini merupakan salah satu bahasan dalam Tesis yang ditulis Peneliti yang membahas mengenai peserta didik dan perbedaannya secara mendasar dari segi biologis, sosial dan budaya dalam lingkup dunia pendidikan, menimbulkan beberapa peraturan, kebiasaan yang berbeda antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Hal ini direspon positif oleh dunia pendidikan diberbagai belahan dunia, dimana beberapa lembaga pendidikan menerapkan sistem terpisah antara lakilaki dan perempuan, pemisahan yang dimaksud adalah pemisahan kelas atau keseluruhan aktifitas lainnya antara laki-laki dan perempuan, yang kemudian disebut dengan sistem segregasi gender. Di belahan Dunia Barat seperti di Amerika Serikat, pada tahun 2009 terdapat lebih dari 550 sekolah yang menerapkan sistem pemisahan kelas berdasarkan jenis kelamin yang popular dengan istilah Single Sex Public Education (SSPE).
In Indonesia, the dissemination of religious radicalism not only occurs in educational institutions but has also spread into other social institutions. In the scope of higher education, the National Counter Terrorism Agency (BNPT) released the results of their research in 2018, indicate the emergence of radicalism in several state universities. Although several other parties questioned the details of BNPT’s findings, the research made “politics of fear” after explicitly labelling seven well-known state universities exposed to radical ideology. This research is directed to formulate the learning innovation on Islamic Religious Education (IRE) based Civic Intelligence using the Values Clarification Technique (VCT) learning model as an effort to strengthen religious moderation. This research is classified into the research and development (R&D) model which conducted at State University of Malang (UM) and the development model used the ADDIE model. The result revealed that the mapping for religious moderation after getting treatment can be grouped into five categories (very high: 9.97%, high: 9.30%, moderate: 51.82%, low: 26.57% and very low: 2.32%). Research exploring how students develop their perspectives on religious moderation through reading and understanding the Qur’an is underexplored. This study aims to investigate students’ religious literacy tenet as a process of constructing meaning about religious moderation from the verses of the Qur’an. The participants involved were three students with an excellent ability to read the Qur’an and who had a great interest in the study of the Qur’an. The data were collected through the process of reading the verses of the Qur’an and its textual and contextual translation. The results of this study indicate that students with high translation amendments (adding, removing and replacing words and phrases) tend to have more ability to interpret the verses of the Qur’an widely as a form of verbalisation of thoughts.Contribution: This study provides clarification on student interactions, the interpretation process and the construction of the meaning of the verses of the Qur’an. Furthermore, the results of this study encourage lecturers to reconstruct the process of learning to read the Qur’an at the university level.
