This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data is taken from words or sentences and utterances which consist of imagery in the poetry anthology Rumah Cinta by penyair Jambi poet. Poetry is created based on observation that is recorded by senses to make images thought. The image of thought that can see, listen, feel, what it feels by the poet called imagery. From poetry, poet can reveal the bad and good things that they feel so that every poet can create more than two poetry. Moreover that poetry can be collected in a form of book. The book which consists of poetry collection that is created is called poetry anthology. Based on the result of this research, the most dominant imagery that is used by the poetry anthology Rumah Cinta by Jambi poet is imagery of sight. There are 30 utterances that are found and 3 utterances of imagery of movement.Key Word: image, poetry anthology
The purpose of this research is to describe the reduplication in the aspect of form and meaning in the novel Garis Waktu by Fiersa Besari. This research is a qualitative descriptive. The data are in the form of expressions found in the novel Garis Waktu by Fiersa Besari. Based on the data analysis, thera are 190 expressions of reduplication are found. In the aspect of reduplication, 158 citations were found, with the following details; 1) the most dominant form of reduplication found was whole repetition that was 110 expressions; The dominant form of reduplication is the repetition of affixes that was 34 expressions; the least repetition form were 23 expressions, namely partial repetition; and the form of repetition of phoneme changes found in 3 expressions. As for the aspect of the meaning of reduplication, 32 expressions were found, with the following details: the most dominant meaning of reduplication is seven expressions that was "expressing intensity"; The meaning of reduplication which is quite dominant consists of three parts, namely: 6 expressions for restatement containing the meaning of 'much', 6 expressions for restatement containing words “kinds of”, and 6 expressions of rephrasing which contain the meaning of “weakening the meaning'; and the meaning of reduplication was at least 4 repeated expressions with the meaning of "mutually", then 3 repeated expressionswith the meaning of "which resembles the repeated word".
This study aims to determine: (1) the differences in learning achievement of speaking skills in Biography between class VII students of SMP Negeri 18 Jambi City who were taught using poster media with students who were taught without using poster media; (2) the effectiveness of poster media in learning biography on speaking skills of class VII SMP Negeri 18 Jambi City. This research is a quasi experimental study. The research design was a pre-test and post test group. The subjects in this study were all grade VII students of SMP Negeri 18 Jambi City. Samples were taken using simple random sampling technique. The group consisted of two classes, namely F as an experimental group of 32 students and D as a control group of 32 students. The research data was taken using a test, namely the speaking test. The validity used in this research is content validity and construct validity. The reliability used in this study was Alpha Cronbach's reliability. While the research data were analyzed using t-test and gain score. The results of this study resulted in (1) the value of tcount> ttable, namely 2.314> 2.011 with df = 47 at the 5% significance level. The results of these calculations indicate that there is a difference in the learning achievement of students' biographical speaking skills between classes taught using poster media and those taught without using poster media; (2) the calculation of the mean gain score, the experimental class has an average gain score of 0.303 which is greater than the average gain score of the control class of 0.225. Thus it can be concluded that learning using poster media is more effective in learning biographical speaking skills for seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Jambi City.
The learning outcomes obtained by each student are different because the potential possessed by students is different, as well as how to develop their potential. How to develop their potential depends on the desires of each student. This is influenced by the motivation that each student has. Learning attitudes also affect student learning outcomes in Indonesian language learning. A person's attitude to something will be addressed through behavior. Students who are positive about and open to accepting learning will provide encouragement to students to achieve success. The objectives of this study are as follows. (1) Knowing the amount of significant contribution between learning attitudes towards student Learning Outcomes of Indonesian language lectures. (2) Knowing the amount of significant contribution of learning motivation to the learning outcomes of student Indonesian language lectures. (3) Knowing the amount of significant contribution between learning attitudes and motivation to learn together to the learning outcomes of student Indonesian language lectures. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive methods and uses correlation design. The population of this study is all FKIP students of Batanghari University. The sampling technique is carried out by random sampling, namely the sampling of sample members from the population which is carried out randomly. This research instrument is in the form of a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment (PPM) correlation test, double correlation test, t test, F test, and determinant coefficient formula to determine the magnitude of the contribution of free variables to bound variables, either individually or jointly.The results showed that learning attitudes and learning motivation contributed significantly to student lecture learning outcomes by 20.5%. Thus, these variables have a good influence on the learning outcomes of FKIP students at Batanghari University
The purpose of this research is to describe the abbreviation form and acronym used in the criminal daily news of Tribun Jambi March edition 2019. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive. The data are taken from the daily issue of Tribun Jambi March edition 2019. The technique of collecting the data is documentation. The results show that, from all 16 data, there are only 4 forms of acronyms and 1 abbreviation form were found in the daily criminal news of Tribun Jambi March edition 2019. From all three forms of the acronym, there is 2 quotations which represents the first letter of the acronym; there is 7 quotations which represents the first two-letter retention of each component; theere is 10 quotations which represents the first three-letter for each component; and there are 12 quotations which represents the retention of many letters and syllables that are difficult to formulate. While on the abbreviation, it is found only the first letter retention of each component as much as 51 quotations.
