AbstractIn the last years, higher education has experienced among its strongest tendencies; the incorporation of ICT in educational processes. In response to this interest, in the III University Congress of the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (2006) was adopted as a motion the progressive incorporation of online learning in all curricula; situation that has generated a significant increase in courses that make use of learning management systems. Foregoing, it adds a series of efforts aimed at improving the design and implementation of on-line courses; including the latest which translates the Development Plan 2011-2015.Although the institution requires technological resources to deal with the incursion of the ICT in learning processes, this task requires further focus the interest in the proper planning and structuring the contents of the course; in order that the methodology and the integration of resources should be geared to the achievement of learning objectives. In this regard, it's important to point out, that at the time, in the Universidad Estatal a Distancia there are a significant number of online courses, without unified quality criteria to guide teaching mediation of them. So, the purpose of this writing is raise the need to establish quality criteria which should be considered in the pedagogic mediation of on-line courses in the Universidad Estatal a Distancia-Costa Rica.

SUMMARYThis article presents the results of the advice offered by the PACE in 2009 to the Comisiones de Autoevaluación at the Escuela de Ciencias de la Educación (CAES), in order to achieve the redesign of the curricula in different programs. To accomplish this objective, the specialist has coordinated with the CAES, providing the required curriculum guide. For this experience, the counselor has developed curriculum guides in order to provide support to the work of each of the sections of the curriculum. In addition, deadlines have been established in order to review the progress of preliminary versions up to their conclusions. All this process has been carefully supervised by the Head of the School. Each of the programs has concreted a new curriculum proposal, as part of the master plan report for accreditation or continuous improvement.
El propósito es brindar elementos teórico-prácticos para la discusión, a lo interno de la UNED y a lo externo, acerca de los fundamentos que deben caracterizar a un modelo pedagógico de educación a distancia centrado en el estudiante. Se plantean apuntes teóricos que respaldan la necesidad social de la educación a distancia y focaliza su atención en la responsabilidad que se le atribuye al estudiante como centro del modelo pedagógico de la UNED, así como el lugar de privilegio del texto impreso como mediación en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje a distancia. Se ofrece una propuesta de competencias de los mediadores pedagógicos en un aprendizaje mediatizado en la educación a distancia.
