This study aims to determine the relationship between positive thinking and resilience among undergraduate students who are currently working on their thesis. The subjects of this study were 75 psychology students in UIN Sunan Kalijaga who are working on their thesis. The research variables were measured using positive thinking scale with aspects were taken from Albercht's theory, namely: positive expectations, self-affirmation, statements that do not assess, and conformity with reality. The Positive Thinking Scale consists of 48 items, with a discrimination index above 0.3 and reliability coefficient of 0.949. Meanwhile, the resiliance variable was measured by resilience scale developed using Grotberg theory (2003) with its aspects, namely: external support (I Have), Inner strengths (I Am), and interpersonal and problem-solving skills (I Can). The Resilience Scale consists of 51 items with discrimination index above 0.3 and reliability coefficient of 0.944. Hypothesis testing was carried out using Spearman Rho and the results showed correlation coefficient of 0.738 with p: 0.000 (p <0.01). These results proved there is a significant positive correlation between positive thinking and resilience. The effective contribution of positive thinking to students resilience was 60.7%. This research seeks to determine the relationships between aqidah and self-acceptance, as well as the gender differences in self-acceptance. This research is a quantitative study, using quota sampling as a sampling technique. This study involved 215 students that were spreading in several universities in Special Region of Yogyakarta. The instrument used in this research was a modification of the Unconditional Self-acceptance Questionnaire (USAQ) which had an alpha coefficient of 0,841 and Aqidah Scale which had an alpha coefficient of 0,893. The first hypothesis for the relationship between aqidah and selfacceptance was analyzed by non-parametric spearman rho that showed insignificant result. This means there is no significant relationship between aqidah and self-acceptance. The second hypothesis for the comparison of self-acceptance between men and women that analyzed by independent sample t-test showed significant differences, which is men had higher self-acceptance than women.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara konsep diri akademik dan perilaku menyontek.Hipotesisnya adalah ada hubungan negatif antara konsep diri akademik dan perilaku menyontek.Populasinya adalah siswa-siswi MAS Simbangkulon Buaran Pekalongan dengan sampel sebanyak 214 siswa.Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu dengan menggunakan skala konsep diri akademik dari Mars dkk.(1985) dan skala perilaku menyontek.Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik korelasi Pearson’s product moment. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan nilai rxy = -0.522 dengan p = 0.000 p <0.01. Yang artinya ada hubungan negatif yang sangat signifikan antara konsepdiri akademik dengan perilaku menyontek.Hal ini berarti bahwa semakin positifkonsep diri akademik siswa maka semakin rendah perilaku menyonteknya.Sebaliknya semakin negatif konsep diri akademik siswa maka semakin tinggiperilaku menyonteknya.Jadi hipotesis dalam penelitian ini diterima. Sumbangan efiktif konsep diri akademik terhadap perilaku menyontek siswa sebesar 27,3 %.
This study aims to determine the relationship of the aqidah (religious belief) with positive thinking and resilience to psychology students at the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.. The research subjects in this study were 75 psychology students who were working on the final project (thesis) from the class of 2010 to the 2012 class. The sampling technique in this study used the quota sampling technique. The method of data collection in this study used the scale of aqidah , scale of positive thinking, and scale of resilience. Data analysis was done by product moment correlation technique and Spearman Rho. The results of the study show that (1) There is a very significant positive relationship between the aqidah and positive thinking in students who are working on the final assignment (thesis). This is indicated by the coefficient = 0.473 with p = 0,000, thus the hypothesis is accepted. The effective contribution of the aqidah to positive thinking of students who are working on their final assignment is 22.4%. (2) There is a very significant positive relationship between the aqidah and resilience in students who are working on the final assignment (thesis). This is indicated by the coefficient = 0.339 with p = 0.001, thus the hypothesis is accepted. The effective contribution of the aqidah to resilience of students who are working on their final assignment is 11.5%.
