A 3.5–4.5 GHz Complementary Metal–Oxide–Semiconductor Ultrawideband Receiver Frontend Low-Noise Amplifier with On-Chip Integrated Antenna for Interchip Communication

Abstract: We present a new extended version of the R-matrix method for the calculation of continuum properties in which non-orthogonal orbitals are extensively used for describing both the target states and the R-matrix basis functions. In particular, a B-spline basis is used for the description of continuum states in the inner region and the target states may be obtained from independent calculations. This leads to a generalized eigenvalue problem but has the advantage of requiring much smaller bases for accurate repre… Show more

“…For example, the output GMP had less distortion in wide bandwidth LNA, 38) but in Ref. 39, GMP output has more distortion for narrow bandwidth LNA. Thus, the large 10 dB return loss bandwidth is important to reduce GMP signal distortion.…”

“…R ECENT breakthroughs in 3-D semiconductor technology architectures, with [1] discussing general principles, [2]- [4] demonstrating effective physical implementations and nanotechnologies, and [5] analyzing the unprecedented opportunities offered for on-chip antenna integration, open new avenues for pursuing the path of integrated circuit (IC) complexity and capabilities enhancement. Developing circuits of such levels of complexity places daunting demands on the design instruments that must provide fast, accurate, and reliable performance prediction of the final products.…”
