Although many research results discuss the problems of learning education during the COVID 19 pandemic, there has been no more specific and comprehensive research in discussing alternative strategies in online learning in primary schools during the COVID 19 pandemic. This paper seeks to provide a theoretical basis for alternative learning strategies that be used as a reference for elementary school teachers in learning online. The research conducted at elementary schools that domiciled in the city of Medan. The type of research in this paper is library research, with a conceptual approach and a comparative approach. The results of this study indicate that there are four strategies that are very relevant to be used in online learning in elementary schools during the COVID-19 pandemic, namely: 1) Guided Inquiry Learning, 2). Contextual Teaching Learning. 3) Problem Based Learning, and, 4) Student Active Learning. Of the four strategies, the teacher can choose one strategy that suits the type of material presented by prioritizing student needs.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis efek penggunaan metode Pembelajaran Aktif Inovatif Kreatif Efektif Menyenangkan (PAIKEM). Permasalahan penelitian ialah apakah metode pembelajaran Pembelajaran Aktif Inovatif Kreatif Efektif Menyenangkan efektif terhadap prestasi akademik peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Katolik kelas VIII B Sekolah Menengah Pertama Swasta Santo Xaverius 2, Kabanjahe. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Informan-informan kunci dari penelitian terdiri atas Kepala Sekolah, guru Pendidikan Agama Katolik, dan Peserta Didik. Data yang sudah terkumpul dari lapangan dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan cara mereduksi, menyusun display data dan menyimpulkan data penelitian. Untuk mengukur keabsahan data penelitian maka peneliti melakukan triangulasi baik teknik maupun sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode Pembelajaran Aktif Inovatif Kreatif Efektif Menyenangkan (PAIKEM) berpengaruh baik terhadap prestasi akademik peserta didik. Kendala yang dialami peserta didik adalah pembelajaran yang belum sepenuhnya tatap muka atau masih daring karena pandemi. Walaupun demikian, disadari bahwa pembelajaran daring dan pembelajaran tatap muka tetap akan diterapkan berdampingan, juga di masa depan.

The purpose of education in a school is largely based on the expertise of a principal in leading, through good leadership all the potential possessed by the school will move and develop according to the needs and developments of the times. The purpose of this study was to determine the principal's strategy to become great. The principal is the main key and is one of the most important strategic factors in developing quality schools. The research conducted by using the literature study method. The results showed same strategies that implemented to become a great principal are: 1). Obey the rules. 2). Proficiency in using technology, 3) Spending time. 3). Quick date and caring. 5). Academic Assistance Skills. 6). Innovative Behaviour. 7) Pedagogical Leadership.
