Abstract:A method using 1-MDS electropositive filters for the concentration of Aeromonas salmonicida from hatchery water was developed. The procedure consisted of passing hatchery water at ambient pH through the filters followed by the elution of the adsorbed baeteria in a small volume of 3% beef extract solution (pH 100). A 300 fold reduction in volume of hatchery water and an average recovery of ?>5% of the seeded bacteria was achieved.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
