“…For instance, Gao et al [69] implement an optimisation using branch and bound algorithm to reach the optimised location of doors and consequently reduce evacuation time. A genetic algorithm is used to reduce evacuation time for buildings optimisation with regards to the level of service [70]. Liu et al [71] applied Quantum Ant Colony Algorithm (QACA) to optimize evacuation paths to decrease required evacuation time.…”

“…The literature was retrieved from the core collection database in the Web of Science (WOS) comprehensive bibliographic database, including the Science Citation Index Expanded, the Social Sciences Citation Index, and Conference Proceedings Citation Index. Initial searches for the topic "application of SC for emergency evacuation" were performed from October 2020 to November 2020 to determine a minimum of 19 benchmark studies (Afshar and Haghani, 2008;Alam and Habib, 2021;Dulebenets et al, 2020;Gerakakis et al, 2019;Ghasemi et al, 2019;Ibrahim et al, 2016;Krasko and Rebennack, 2017;Li et al, 2019a;Li et al, 2019b;Liu et al, 2020;Luh et al, 2012;Mei and Xie, 2019;Peng et al, 2019;Rabbani et al, 2018;S ¸ahin et al, 2019;Sharbini et al, 2021;Shen et al, 2019;Wen et al, 2019;Zhang et al, 2021a) for further research in the WOS. A limited set of keywords was extracted from these benchmark studies.…”

“…Additionally, some passengers may get help from staff in the service counters. Obviously, exits and facilities in the station hall play an important role in safety evacuation [27,50]. Meanwhile, previous studies conducted controlled experiments on the effect of obstacle layouts on evacuation and found that different obstacle layouts have different influence on pedestrian flow [51,52].…”
