Pendidikan merupakan salah satu kebutuhan manusia, karena dengan pendidikan manusia memperoleh pengetahuan, nilai, sikap serta keterampilan. Menyadari akan pentingnya pendidikan pemerintah Republik Indonesia telah menetapkan tujuan pendidikan Nasional. Pendidikan juga merupakan tujuan untuk kedewasaan dan kematangan pribadi manusia. Pendidikan sangat penting bagi kehidupan manusia, karena dengan adanya pendidikan manusia akan memperoleh pengetahuan, nilai dan mengubah sikap.Belajar bukanlah menghafal sejumlah fakta atau informasi. Belajar adalah berbuat, memperoleh pengalaman tertentu sesuai dengan tujuan yang diharapkan. Oleh karena itu, strategi pembelajaran harus dapat mendorong aktivitas siswa. Baik aktivitas fisik maupun aktivitas mental. Sekolah sebagai tempat terjadinya proses belajar mengajar dimana siswa memperoleh pengetahuan dan pendidikan dari Sekolah Dasar (SD), Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) sampai Sekolah Menengah Atas. Di sekolah menciptakan siswa yang kreativitas. Dalam kegiatan disekolah akan membuat siswa aktif baik fisik, mental, intelektual dan emosional untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yang hendak dicapai. Keaktifan seorang siswa akan mempengaruhi hasil belajarnya, karena apabila siswa aktif maka pengetahuannya dan pelajarannya semakin luas.

Objective: This research aims to explore the process of building critical awareness and implementing sustainable work programs through the ethnography of interaction of members of the West Kalimantan Children's Forum. Theoretical framework: Drawing on the educational dehumanization theory of Paulo Freire. Method: This study utilizes a qualitative approach, employing the SPEAKING Hymes method grounded in the Ethnography of Communication as an analytical tool. This research refers to 2 key informants who have the criteria of being involved in the children's forum for more than 5 years, involved in management from the local and national levels, involved in discussions of local to international level issues, and consistently assisting 14 children's groups at the district and city levels in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Results and conclusion: This study reveals how West Kalimantan Children's Forum members engage in participatory discussions to address issues emerging in their environment. Two-way, participatory dialogue fosters the development of children's abilities to analyze, communicate, generate ideas, and think critically, ultimately serving as human development capital to optimize the management of natural resources in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Research implications: show the consistency of children's groups in conducting dialogue and contributing to national development. The research recommendations note that children's groups have the competence to have an open dialogue with the community, government, and stakeholders so that sustainable development can be realized in the future.
