Pineapple plants are usually propagated vegetatively by utilizing the base of the fruit (ratoone), stem buds (sucker), fruit buds (slip) and crown (crown). Propagation of plants by utilizing parts of the plant is less effective in meeting the needs because the planting material produced is small and requires a long time. An alternative to the propagation of pineapple to increase the amount of planting material is by tissue culture techniques. This study aims to obtain the best types of complex organic compounds and the right concentration for the growth of pineapple shoots in vitro. The research was conducted in June 2017 until October 2017 at the Laboratory of Agronomy at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu. Complete randomized design with 3 replications was used to allocate 9 treatments of complex organic compounds. The basic media used are the composition of Murashige and Skoog (MS). Treatment consists of 1) Coconut water 100 ml / l, 2) Coconut water 150 ml / l, 3) Coconut water 200 ml / l, 4) Banana porridge 100 gl / l, 5) Banana pulp 150 g / l, 6) Banana slurry 200 g / l, 7) Bean sprout extract 100 g / l, 8) Bean sprout extract 150 g / l, 9) Bean sprout extract 200 g / l. The results showed that at 16 weeks after MS media planting the addition of 100 g / l banana pulp was able to produce the highest plant height with an average of 3.45 cm. MS media with the addition of 200 ml coconut water resulted in the highest shoot height of 1.5 cm and followed by MS with the addition of 100 g / l media of banana pulp with an average of 0.9 cm. MS media with the addition of 100 ml / l of coconut water is suitable for the growth of pineapple roots with the average value of the number of roots and the highest length of roots. MS media with the addition of bean sprout extract with various concentrations is not able to stimulate shoot growth and has a growth response that tends to be slow. Tanaman binahong merah (Basella rubra L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder berkhasiat obat. Kultur kalus adalah salah satu solusi dalam menghasilkan senyawa metabolit sekunder dengan jumlah yang besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian 2,4-D dan kinetin dalam menginduksi kalus daun binahong merah. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Bioteknologi Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau pada bulan November 2019 sampai Maret 2020. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok yang terdiri dari dua faktor yaitu 2,4-D dengan empat taraf konsentrasi yaitu 0 ppm, 0,5 ppm, 1 ppm dan 2 ppm dan kinetin dengan empat taraf konsentrasi yaitu 0 ppm, 0,5 ppm, 1 ppm dan 2 ppm dengan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi perlakuan tanpa 2,4-D dan 0,5 ppm kinetin memberikan respon terbaik pada saat muncul kalus 11,67 HST dan perlakuan 1 ppm 2,4-D dan 2 ppm kinetin memberikan respon terbaik pada persentase keberhasilan induksi kalus 62,50 %. Red binahong (Basella rubra L.) is a plant that contains medicinal secondary metabolites. Callus culture is one solution in producing secondary metabolites in large quantities. This research aimed to determine the effect of 2,4-D and kinetin in inducing callus on red binahong leaves. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, the University of Riau from November 2019 to March 2020. The experiment used a randomized block design with two factors, namely four levels of 2,4-D 0, 0.5, 1, and 2 ppm and four levels of kinetin namely 0, 0.5, 1, and 2 ppm with three replications. The results showed that a combination of 0 ppm 2,4-D and 0.5 ppm kinetin and 1 ppm 2,4-D and 2 ppm had the fastest callus formation 11.67 DAP and a combination of 1 ppm 2,4-D and 2 ppm kinetin produced weigher callus 6.4 mg and had a percentage of callus formation 62.50%.

Propagation of jasmine plants by cuttings often experience obstacles, especially to grow roots. Proper planting media and application of growth regulators (PGR) have an important role in the growth and development of plant cuttings roots. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of planting media types and PGR on the growth of jasmine cuttings. This research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Teuku Umar University, in March - May 2019. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a factorial pattern of 3x3 with three replications. The treatment factors studied were (1) the type of planting media consisted of 3 levels namely alluvial soil, sand and husk charcoal, and (2) the type of growth regulator (ZPT) consisted of 3 levels namely control (without zpt), chemical (growtone) and organic (shallot extract). F test results on the analysis of variance showed that the planting medium had a very significant effect on the number of shoots 35 and 45 HST, number of leaves 15, 35 and 45 HST number of roots, root length, percentage of live cuttings. But the planting media had no significant effect on the number of shoots of 15 DAP. Growth regulator substances have a very significant effect on the number of shoots 35 HST, number of leaves 15, 35 and 45 HST, number of roots and root length. Significantly affect the number of shoots 45 HST and percentage of live cuttings, but no significant effect on the number of shoots 15 HST. This shows that the difference in growth of jasmine plant cuttings due to different planting media does not depend on growth regulators, and vice versa.
