Qualitative changes in protein synthesis in germinating pollen of Lilium longiflorum after a heat shock

Abstract: Germination and protein synthesis of lily pollen subjeeted to a short heat shock after imbibition are strotigly inhibited. The proteins synthesized after the heat shock were analysed by polyaerylamide gel electrophoresis. The patterns obtained from heat-treated pollen are strikingly difTerent from those of eontrol samples.
