Tests of Dental Properties of Composite Materials Containing Nanohybrid Filler

Abstract: Complex composite materials are used in many areas of dentistry. Initially, chemically hardened materials were also used, and in this group nanohybrid composites are highly valued. They are often used today, mainly for the direct reconstruction of damaged hard tooth tissue materials for rebuilding damaged tissues using indirect adhesive techniques. The research was conducted to determine the mechanical properties of materials with nanofillers. The article focuses on methods of important test methods for dental… Show more

“…These findings are in accordance with previous studies [16,17,35]. The microhardness correlates with the content of filler particles of the materials [36]. Only VITABLOCS Mark II revealed a substantial and statistically significant decrease in microhardness after both 1 and 3 years, whereas the other materials only exhibited a statistically significant decrease after 3 years.…”

“…Nanohybrids are dental composites containing nanofillers (<100 nm) and sub-micron particles (≤1 μm), which allow for more durable and esthetic restorations. 3 4 Surface roughness of nanohybrid dental composites is determined by the resin composite composition and polishing procedures. The size of filler particles in resin composites has been reported to have a significant impact on the transmittance and reflectance of the final restoration.…”
