The aim of this study is to examine the interaction between the meal protein source with the protein-energy synchronization index (PES) in the dairy ration on the profile of branched chain volatile fatty acids (BCVFA). The study was carried out in vitro, using factorial completely randomized design (CRD-Factorial). The first factor was 2 types of meal protein source (soybean meal and coconut meal) and the second factor was 3 levels of PES index (0.5, 0.6, and 0.7), there were 6 treatment combinations, each treatment was repeated 4 times. The results of the study showed that the interaction between the meal protein source and the PES index was not significantly affected (P> 0.05) on the levels of iso butyrate, isovalerate and valerate. The study concluded that the low PES index ration (0.5) produced a decent BCVFA profile using coconut or soybean meal.
An experiment was aimed to assess the use of the legumes as a source of protein feedstuff and levels of protein-energy synchronization (PES) index in the diet of dairy cattles on volatile fatty acids (VFA) and methane (CH4) profile. The research was applied in In vitro techniques used a completely randomized design (CRD), with factorially pattern (2x3), the first factor was the two species of legumes (Sesbania and Leucaena) and the second factor was the three level of the PES index (0.4, 0.5, and 0.6), there were 6 treatment combinations and each was 4 replicates. The results showed that interaction between legumes with PES index was not significantly affected (P>0.05) on all variable. Legumes was not significantly affected (P>0.05) on all variables and PES index was significantly affected (P<0.05) on propionate, A:P ratio, and methane. The study concluded that the use of turi and lamtoro leaves combined with the protein-energy synchronization index (PES) at medium level (0.5) could increasing the production of VFA, especially propionate, suppressing A:P ratio and decreasing methane production.
INTISARITujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung daun sirsak terhadap karakteristik lemak darah dan daging itik Tegal jantan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Penelitian terdiri dari 4 perlakuan, yaitu: pakan tanpa disuplementasi tepung daun sirsak, pakan + 5% tepung daun sirsak, pakan + 10% tepung daun sirsak, pakan + 15% tepung daun sirsak. Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali dan setiap ulangan terdiri dari 5 ekor itik. Perlakuan diberikan kepada itik selama 5 minggu yaitu mulai dari umur sebulan sampai umur potong 10 minggu. Data penelitian dianalisis variansi pola searah dan jika terdapat pengaruh perlakuan maka dilanjutkan dengan uji orthogonal polynomial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi tepung daun sirsak dalam pakan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kadar trigliserida, kolesterol, dan LDL darah serta kadar trigliserida dan kolesterol daging, tetapi berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kadar HDL darah, yaitu menaikkan kadar HDL darah. Kesimpulan penelitian yaitu suplementasi tepung daun sirsak dalam pakan itik tegal jantan sebesar 8,36% menunjukkan kadar HDL darah tertinggi yaitu 99,89 mg/dl, namun demikian suplementasi tepung daun sirsak hingga 15% belum mampu menurunkan kadar trigliserida, kolesterol, dan LDL darah serta kadar trigliserida dan kolesterol daging itik Tegal jantan umur 10 minggu. <p>The experiment was aimed to assess the food securitythrough physical properties, chemical composition and prevalence rate of milk bacterial contamination in Cilongok dairy cattle development center. Surveys and observations were conducted to obtain data on milking and milk processing applied by farmer and to obtain data on physical properties, chemical composition, and milk total bacterial count. The materialswere used farmer and milk samples taken 20 liters in total from 13 Andini Lestari 1 farmers and 7 Andini Lestrari 2 farmers. Data from the laboratory were analyzed descriptively based on the Standard Nasional Indonesia (SNI): 3141.1.2011, "t" test was used to distinguish milk quality based on physical properties, chemical composition and total bactery from both groups. The results showed that physical properties, chemical composition, and total bactery from both groups were not significantly different (P> 0.05). The conclusion of the research stated that Cilongok Dairy Cattle Development Center produces milk that is suitable for consumption based on physical and chemical composition in accordance with SNI standard: No.3141.1.2011 that showed low prevalence of bacterial contamination.</p>
Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan mengevaluasi kualitas ransum Itik Magelang pada pemeliharaan intensif maupun semi intensif terhadap bobot badan dan produksi telur. Ternak yang digunakan berupa Itik Magelang sebanyak 40 ekor terdiri atas 20 ekor (intensif) dan 20 ekor (semi intensif). Metode penelitian secara experimental farm melalui survey lokasi peternakan, pemeliharaan Itik Magelang (intensif dan semi intensif), serta evaluasi produksi. Parameter yang diukur yaitu kualitas ransum, bobot badan dan produksi telur Itik Magelang. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan nyata, antara kualitas ransum pemeliharaan intensif dengan semi intensif terhadap bobot badan dan produksi telur Itik Magelang. Rataan bobot badan Itik Magelang pada pemeliharaan intensif lebih tinggi sebesar 1,90 kg dibandingkan semi intensif sebesar 1,72 kg. Produksi telur itik Magelang pada pemeliharaan intensif lebih tinggi sebanyak 347 butir dibandingkan pemeliharaan semi intensif sebanyak 125 butir. Dapat disimpulkan ransum Itik Magelang pada sistem pemeliharaan intensif memiliki kualitas lebih tinggi dari ransum pada sistem pemeliharaan semi intensif. Kualitas ransum pada sistem pemeliharaan intensif itik Magelang akan berdampak positif pada peningkatan bobot badan dan produksi telur yang dihasilkan jika dibandingkan dengan sistem pemeliharaan semi intensif.Kata Kunci: Itik Magelang, intensif, semi intensif, bobot badan, produksi telur.
