This preliminary study is conducted to observe how flipped learning could be used in teaching the subject of elementary linear algebra in campus. The study is descriptive explorative using video and direct observations as the main data collection techniques. Forty students and a lecturer attending a blended-based elementary linear algebra class set in flipped learning mode were involved as the subjects. The data were analysed to gain insights on how it would be best to conduct the flipped learning, and to see how it helps the students and the lecturer during the class sessions. The results showed that the flipped learning made the class very dynamic. The online session is also helpful in students’ learning accelerations in procedural contents and on providing more opportunity for lecturer to simulate students’ higher order thinking during the offline sessions.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pada materi persamaan kuadrat. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 3 orang siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri di Makassar yang dipilih berdasarkan banyaknya kesalahan yang dilakukan dalam menyelesaikan soal pada materi persamaan kuadrat. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes diagnostik dan wawancara kemudian melalui tiga tahapan analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa jenis kesalahan yang dialami siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal persamaan kuadrat meliputi kesalahan konsep, kesalahan prinsip, dan kesalahan perhitungan. Hal ini disebabkan karena rendahnya pengetahuan prasyarat siswa tentang operasi bilangan, siswa belum memahami tentang menentukan akar-akar persamaan kuadrat dengan cara melengkapkan bentuk kuadrat sempurna, dan siswa tidak memahami rumus abc untuk menentukan akar-akar persamaan kuadrat, serta siswa kurang teliti menggunakan operasi hitung.Kata kunci: Analisis Kesalahan, Kesalahan Konsep, Kesalahan Perhitungan, Kesalahan Prinsip, Persamaan KuadratThis study aims to describe students’ errors in solving questions of quadratic equation. This research type is descriptive research using qualitative approach. The subject of this research is 3 students of grade XI SMK Negeri in Makassar who were selected based on the number of errors experienced in solving questions of quadratic equation. Data collection techniques used in this study is diagnostic test and interview methods then through three stages of data analysis namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results obtained that the types of errors experienced by students in solving quadratic equation included conceptual error, principle error, and calculation error. This was because the low of students’ prerequisite knowledge about number operations, students didn’t understand about finding the roots of quadratic equation by completing the perfect square, students didn’t understand the abc formula to finding the roots of quadratic equation, and students inaccurate using arithmetic operations.Keyword: Error Analysis, Concept Error, Calculation Error, Principle Error, Quadratic Equation
AbstrakPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis kontekstual dengan strategi relating, experiencing, applying, cooperating, transfering (REACT) pada siswa SD Inpres Karunrung Makassar dengan materi perbandingan dan skala yang meliputi buku siswa (BS), lembar kegiatan siswa (LKS), dan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP). Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas Va SD Inpres Karunrung Makassar yang berjumlah 26 orang. Prosedur pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model 4D (define, design, develop, and disseminate). Hasil dari ujicoba terbatas menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang dihasilkan telah bersifat praktis dan efektif. Hasil analisis data adalah siswa jadi lebih aktif dalam proses pembelajaran, guru dapat membimbing kelompok bekerja dan belajar, tingkat kemampuan guru dalam mengelola proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dan strategi REACT termasuk dalam kategori sangat tinggi, artinya penampilan guru dapat dipertahankan, skor rata-rata yang diperoleh siswa pada tes hasil belajar (THB) adalah 75,69 dari skor ideal 100 dengan standar deviasi 12,43, dimana 21 dari 26 siswa atau 80,77% memenuhi ketuntasan individu yang menunjukkan bahwa ketuntasan klasikal tercapai dan pada umumnya siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap perangkat pembelajaran yang digunakan. Abstract This Research is research development (Research and Development) that aim to develop Tool of Mathematical Contextual-Based Learning with Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transfering (REACT) strategies at Students of Inpres Karunrung Makassar Elementary School to the subject comparison and scale that includes student books, student activity sheets, and lesson plan execution. This subject research is student of class of Va class in Inpres Karunrung Makassar Elementary School with students amount as 26 people. Development procedures used in this study is a model or models 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The results of the limited trial showed that the mathematics learning was effective and practical. Result of data analysis are student become more active in the learning process, the teacher can guide the group to work and learn, the level of teacher ability in the lerning process by using contextual based learning with REACT strategy to a higher category, meaning that the teacher performance can be maintained, the average score obtained by students on achievement test is the ideal score of 75,69 from 100 with standard deviation 12,43, where 21 from 26 student or 80,77% of individuals who meet the exhaustiveness show that classical achieved, student responded positively to the learning device used generally.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan penalaran proporsional siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika pada materi lingkaran. Dua siswa dari kelas IX dipilih sebagai subjek berdasarkan hasil tes kemampuan prasyarat matematika. Setelah itu, tes kemampuan penalaran proporsional diberikan kepada subjek, lalu diwawancara terkait tes tersebut untuk . Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa (1) kedua subjek memenuhi indikator kemampuan berpikir aditif, (2) kedua subjek memenuhi indikator kemampuan berpikir multiplikatif, (3) hanya subjek kedua yang memenuhi indikator kemampuan penggunaan rasio yang masuk akal atau tepat, sedangkan subjek pertama belum memenuhi indikator ini, (4) kedua subjek belum memenuhi indikator kemampuan membangun struktur unit (pengelompokan), (5) kedua subjek belum memenuhi indikator kemampuan memahami invarian.Kata Kunci: Penalaran, Proporsional, Lingkaran, Prasyarat, MatematikaThis research aim to analyze student ability of student's proportional reasoning in solving mathematics on circle topic. Two students from grade IX were selected as in term results of math pre-requisite ability test. then, proportional reasoning test was given to subject and interview related to it. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan siswa dan faktor penyebab kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV) berdasarkan tahapan Newman ditinjau dari kemampuan awal matematika. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX yang terdiri enam orang yakni masing-masing dua orang untuk setiap tingkatan kemampuan awal matematika. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu tes dan wawancara. Adapun instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu tes kemampuan awal matematika, tes diagnostik SPLDV, dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini meliputi kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi atau penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Siswa dengan kemampuan awal matematika tinggi melakukan kesalahan keterampilan proses dan penulisan jawaban; (2) Siswa dengan kemampuan awal matematika sedang melakukan kesalahan memahami, transformasi, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan jawaban; (3) Siswa dengan kemampuan awal matematika rendah melakukan kesalahan membaca, memahami, transformasi, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan jawaban. Adapun faktor yang paling sering menyebabkan kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal materi SPLDV diantaranya karena siswa kurang teliti dan terburu-buru dalam mengerjakan soal, belum menguasai materi prasyarat, dan sebagai akibat dari kesalahan yang dilakukan sebelumnya.Kata Kunci: Kesalahan, Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel, Kesalahan Newman, Matematika. This research aims to analyze students’ errors and the factors that cause students’ errors in solving problems of two-variable linear equations system based on Newman’s stages viewed from initial mathematical ability. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The subject of this research is students grade IX that consists of six students which two people for each level of initial mathematical ability. Data collection techniques in this research are test and interview. The research instrument was used, namely the initial mathematical ability test, a diagnostic test of a two-variable linear equation system, and interview guidelines. The data analysis techniques in this study include the condensation of data, the presentation of data, and the verification or drawing of conclusions. The result shows that: (1) Students with high initial mathematical abilities make mistakes in processing skills and writing in answers; (2) Students with medium early mathematical abilities are making mistakes in understanding questions, transforming questions, processing skills, and writing answers; (3) Students with low initial mathematical abilities make errors in reading questions, misunderstanding questions, transformation, processing skills, and writing answers. The factors that most often cause students' errors in solving the Two-Variable Linear Equations System material problems are students being less thorough and hastily working on the questions, have not mastered the prerequisite material, and as the result of previous mistakes.Keywords: Errors, Two-Variable Linear Equations System, Newman Error, Mathematics.
