The purpose of this study is to explore and describe local wisdom in the Hikayat Komering Pitu Phuyang. The study used a qualitative descriptive method with a sociological literature approach. Source of research data is Hikayat Komering Pitu Phuyang by Himawan Bastari. The data were collected using the reading-note technique, while the content analysis technique carried out the data analysis. The results showed that the Hikayat Komering Pitu Phuyang contains very diverse local wisdom. Local wisdom includes (1) Wangsa Buay Tumi's belief in tambo as a means of information that is believed to be true, (2) the belief system in Belaksa Kepampang and Ikahua as the embodiment of gods, (3) the tradition of giving adok as a form of appreciation, (4) ) the government system in the form of a kingdom, (5) the tradition of slaughtering virgins and virgins as evidence of worship of gods, (6) the caste tradition in royal family marriages as a symbol of honour, (7) the tradition of asceticism at the top of a mountain as a means of approaching oneself to the God, (8) society that has the principles of religious life, full responsibility, and hard work, (9) a residential system that reflects the breadth of the way the people think.
A language is a communication tool used by humans to exchange information between individuals, both in the form of ideas, feelings, and emotions. Every communication process carried out by humans produces speech acts. This study aimed to describe the communication function and strategy for realizing directive speech acts in the collection of short stories Pandawa Kurawa by Agus Hiplunudin. The method used was descriptive qualitative with a pragmatic theory approach. The data source was a collection of Pandawa Kurawa short stories by Agus Hiplunudin. The data was collected through a reading-note technique which was then analyzed descriptively. The research data analysis was carried out by identifying the data, reducing the data, presenting the data, interpreting the data, and concluding the interpretation results. The results showed that the collection of Pandawa Kurawa short stories by Agus Hiplunudin contains a variety of communication functions and strategies for the realization of directive speech acts. The directive speech act was found in communication functions including advising, asking, demanding, ordering, forcing, suggesting, challenging, complaining, encouraging, and asking. Further, the strategies used to realize directive speech acts include a speech strategy without small talk, a speech strategy with positive politeness, and a speech strategy with negative politeness.
Pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam tertua di Indonesia memiliki berbagai peran dan ciri khas yang mengakar hingga saat ini. Sebagian besar peran dan kekhasan pesantren tersebut terpotret dalam kumpulan cerpen pesantren Ludah Surga. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan dunia pesantren dalam kumpulan cerpen pesantren Ludah Surga suntingan Daroini. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berwujud kutipan kalimat dan dikumpulkan melalui teknik baca-catat. Adapun teknik analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dunia pesantren yang terpotret dalam kumpulan cerpen pesantren Ludah Surga sangat beragam dan kompleks. Pesantren sebagai sebuah sistem pendidikan tradisional dibangun oleh lima unsur utama, yaitu kiai, santri, pondok/asrama, masjid/musala, dan kitab kuning. Relasi antar-unsur tersebut melahirkan beragam tradisi khas pesantren yang luhur, seperti rihlah ilmiah, pendalaman ilmu agama Islam, menghafal kitab, pembacaan maulid nabi, tabaruk, hingga laku tirakat. Pengamalan terhadap tradisi-tradisi tersebut pada akhirnya membentuk sikap hidup para santri yang berkarakter, sabar, saleh, mandiri, dan disiplin.
This study aims to explore and describe the cultural elements and moral values contained in the Komering Seharuk folklore. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a sociological literature approach. The research data source is in the form of Komering Seharuk folklore written by Usman Nurdin. Through these data sources, research data is obtained in the form of sentence quotations collected through the reading-note technique. The analysis of the research data was carried out using content analysis techniques. The results showed that the Komering Seharuk folklore contains elements of Komering culture and quite diverse moral values. The Komering cultural elements in question include; (1) the use of the Komering language, (2) the adoption of the Komering Umbai Akas folk song, (3) the background of the Komering river as one of the cultural sources of the Komering people, and (4) Tala Balak which is used as a means of destroying the tyranny of the authorities. The moral values in question include; (1) obedience, (2) wisdom, (3) willingness to take responsibility, (4) hard work, (5) religiosity, (6)optimism, (7) social care, and (8) peace-loving. The cultural elements and moral values contained in the folklore of Komering Seharuk can be used as a motivational guide for social life.Penelitian ini bertujuan menggali dan mendeskripsikan unsur budaya dan nilai moral yang terkandung dalam cerita rakyat Komering Seharuk. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Sumber data penelitian berupa cerita rakyat Komering Seharuk yang ditulis oleh Usman Nurdin. Melalui sumber data tersebut diperoleh data penelitian berwujud kutipan kalimat yang dikumpulkan melalui teknik baca-catat. Adapun analisis terhadap data penelitian dilakukan menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cerita rakyat Komering Seharuk mengandung unsur budaya Komering dan nilai moral yang cukup beragam. Unsur budaya Komering yang dimaksud meliputi; (1) penggunaan bahasa Komering, (2) pengangkatan lagu daerah Komering Umbai Akas, (3) latar Sungai Komering sebagai salah satu sumber kebudayaan masyarakat Komering, dan (4) Tala Balak yang digunakan sebagai sarana penghancur kelaliman penguasa. Adapun nilai-nilai moral yang dimaksud meliputi; (1) kepatuhan, (2) kebijaksanaan, (3) kesediaan bertanggung jawab, (4) bekerja keras, (5) religiusitas, (6) optimisme, (7) peduli sosial, dan (8) cinta damai. Unsur budaya dan nilai moral yang terkandung di dalam cerita rakyat Komering Seharuk dapat dijadikan salah satu pedoman dan motivasi dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat.
The Use of Deixis in Kisah Negeri Lain by Kahlil GibranThis study aims to describe the form and function of deixis in Kisah Negeri Lain by Kahlil Gibran. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The study data was collected through a reading-note technique. The data analysis was carried out using an interactive model which included, (1) data reduction (2) data presentation (3) temporary conclusion drawing, and (4)verification. The results showed that in Kisah Negeri Lain by Kahlil Gibran, various forms and functions of deixis were found. The forms of deixis in question include, (1) personal deixis consisting of the first person, second person, and third person, (2) place deixis, (3) time deixis consisting of past, present, and future times, (4) deixis discourse consisting of anaphora and cataphora, (4) social deixis. The deixis functions in question include, (1) expressive functions, (2) conative functions, (3) referential functions, and (4) phatic functions.AbstrakKajian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bentuk dan fungsi deiksis dalam Kisah Negeri Lain karya Kahlil Gibran. Metode yang digunakan bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Data kajian dikumpulkan melalui teknik baca-catat. Adapun analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan model interaktif yang meliputi, (1) pereduksian data (2) penyajian data (3) penarikan simpulan sementara, dan (4) verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam Kisah Negeri Lain karya Kahlil Gibran ditemukan bentuk dan fungsi deiksis yang beragam. Bentuk deiksis yang dimaksud meliputi, (1) deiksis persona yang terdiri dari persona pertama, persona kedua, dan persona ketiga, (2) deiksis tempat, (3) deiksis waktu yang terdiri dari waktu lampau, sekarang, dan mendatang, (4) deiksis wacana yang terdiri dari anafora dan katafora, (4) deiksis sosial. Adapun fungsi deiksis yang dimaksud meliputi, (1) fungsi ekspresif, (2) fungsi konatif, (3) fungsi referensial, dan (4) fungsi fatis.
