This study is meant to examine the thesis quality of students of English Department at IAIN Samarinda. Through the descriptive-quantitative research, the thesis quality of students of English Department at IAIN Samarinda is reviewed from the aspects of language, structure, concepts understanding, theoretical framework, methodology, content, writing mechanism, and references used. This study also tries to figure out any factors that affect the thesis quality of English Department students. Fourteen English Department Students' thesis tested in 2013 are used as the main data. In addition, other data are obtained from respondents i.e. 19 students, and informants i.e. lecturers of English Department who are also their thesis advisors. The result shows that the average score of thesis written by 14 English Department students at IAIN Samarinda academic year of 2013 is 3.16 which is in the range of 2.61-3.40 scale, which is quite good quality. This quality is relevant with the informants' perceptions about the quality of thesis written by their students. Judging from some aspects, they assume that their students are able to write a good quality of thesis with an average score of 2.81 which is at a scale of 2.61-3.40. The quality is affected by internal factors and external factors. The most decisive internal factor is the respondents' low score of writing with appropriate and acceptable structure in English. This is the effect of respondents' lack of ability of composing adequate paragraphs in English. Meanwhile, the most concerning external factor is the quality of learning structure course and the professionalism of the informants in guiding the students to improve their writing ability in thesis writing.
A factor that can influence the success of learning process is the use of learning media. Therefore, this research aims to evaluate the user experience of multimedia using the program of Auto play media studio for Teacher Professional Education (PPG). The research problem is how the teachers use multimedia in learning and how the teachers develop the multimedia by themselves using the computer technology program of media studio auto play. The research method is the user experience (UX) using the instrument from User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) of Indonesian version, because there are several language versions of the questionnaire built and validated (for example, English, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.) These versions are available for free and online at www.ueq-online.org. The research result from the test of UEQ is that there are five scales which are categorized as excellent; they are Attractiveness, Efficiency, Dependability, Stimulation and Novelty, whereas the scale of Perspicuity is categorized of Above Average according to the interval benchmark of UEQ. All scores are above 0,08 shows that the evaluation of UX is positive. It can be concluded that the multimedia learning using the program of is very good – satisfying to use for the Teacher Professional Education for Islamic Education subject (PAI).
SMK Negeri 1 Samarinda (State Vocational High school 1 of Samarinda) is a general school that the principal still wants to build the Islamic character values through the 3S culture (Smile, Respect, and Greet), the culture of reading the holy Qur’an, praying together, the culture of discipline and honesty, and ethics in clothing. This research aims to find out the religious culture at SMK Negeri 1 Samarinda. The approach used was qualitative approach with qualitative descriptive research type. The data collection techniques were observation, interviews and documentation. Data validity test used source and method triangulation analyzed with member check. The data analysis technique used data reduction, presentation and concluding. The result of the research is that religious activities developed by the principal are such as the culture of 3S, reading Qur’an, praying before and after learning, praying together at the school mosque, the culture of honesty, discipline and ethics in clothing. The strategies of the principal in creating the religious culture at SMK Negeri 1 Samarinda were through planning, modelling, habituation, participation, evaluation, coordination, and motivation.
Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana pelaksanaan pelayanan akademik yang ada di Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Ilmu Keguruan Institut Agama Islam Negeri (FTIK IAIN) Samarinda. Sedangkan, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui problema, faktor dan solusi atau upaya yang telah dilakukan dalam menghadapi problema dalam pelayanan akademik fakultas, serta menawarkan solusi atau upaya lain bagi problema pelayanan akademik FTIK IAIN Samarinda yang masih membutuhkan solusi atau upaya penanganan. Penelitian ini termasuk deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil yang didapat dalam penelitian ini yaitu dalam pelayanan akademik FTIK IAIN Samarinda terdapat beberapa problema. Solusi atau upaya penanganan telah dilakukan untuk menangani problema yang ada. Namun, masih terdapat beberapa problema yang belum mendapatkan solusi atau upaya penanganan dikarenakan belum ditemukannya solusi atau upaya untuk menangani sebagian problema yang dimakasud. Sehingga masih dibutuhkannya ide solusi atau upaya yang membantu untuk menangani sebagian problema tersebut.
Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah jumlah siswa pada rombongan belajar Pendidikan Agama Islam di SMK Farmasi Samarinda yang melebihi kapasitas jumlah siswa perkelas yang telah ditetapkan pemerintah, sehingga membuat proses pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam kurang efektif. Sedangkan tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh rasio jumlah siswa dalam kelas terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di SMK Farmasi Samarinda. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif, dengan populasi seluruh siswa SMK Farmasi Samarinda yang berjumlah 435 siswa dan sampel sebanyak 81 responden dengan menggunakan teknik proportional stratified random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket dan dokumentasi, dan teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan rumus korelasi product moment, koefisien determinan dan uji t. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa terdapat hubungan antara rasio jumlah siswa dalam kelas terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam sebesar 0,281 yang apabila diinterpretasikan dengan tabel r berada diantara 0,20-0,399 berarti tingkat hubungannya rendah. Pembuktian hipotesis dengan menguji signifikansi menggunakan rumus uji t, diperoleh nilai thitung = 2,6037 > ttabel = 1,999045 sehingga Ho ditolak dan Hα diterima bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara rasio jumlah siswa dalam kelas terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di SMKS Farmasi Samarinda dengan nilai koefisien korelasi (r) = 0,281 dapat dimaknai bahwa besarnya sumbangan variabel rasio jumlah siswa dalam kelas terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di SMK Farmasi Samarinda sebesar 7,9%.Kata Kunci: rasio jumlah siswa, efektivitas pembelajaran, SMK Farmasi
