INGESTING BEHAVIOUR OF WHITE BELLIED SEA EAGLE (Haliaeetus leucogaster) IN TASIKOKI CENTRAL WILD ANIMAL RESCUE IN MINAHASA UTARA. This study aimed to describe the ingesting of white bellied sea eagle (Halliaetus leucogaster) in Tasikoki Central Wild Animal Rescue on safeguarding cage as one of the conservation strategy for translocation purpose. The expected benefits was to provide information about ingesting behavior of white bellied sea eagle and the reference knowledge information in the field of wild life conservation measures. This research was conducted using observational methods and instantaneous animal sampling technique of 14 animal samples. Study began at 07.00 am until 17.00 pm. The variables observed is observing prey, catching prey and ingesting prey of white bellied sea eagle as the variables of this study. The observing result is showed that white bellied sea eagle was ingesting fish and other eagle (cannibal animal). The ingesting behavior was affected by the kind of prey, which one of the favorite prey of white bellied sea eagle. The other eagle and the agonistic behavior mostly happened when they prey the other eagle. White bellied sea eagle observed the prey and other thing around the cage with the percentage of 3%. White bellied sea eagle only catches fish with a percentage of 1%. White bellied sea eagle was ingesting prey with a percentage of 96%. The animal was very sensitive in ingesting fish more than ingesting other eagle. Keywords : White bellied sea eagle (Halliaetus leucogaster), Ingesting Behavior, Tasikoki Central Wild Animal Rescue Tasikoki.
Chlorophyll is a plant pigment that has the potential to be used as a dye (sensitizer) in DSSC. The performance of DSSC is highly dependent on the wide bandgap of the dye used. This study aims to determine the optimum pH of bay leaf extract in an alkaline condition through an electrochemical analysis. Bay leaves (Syzgium polyanthum) were extracted by maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent with a pH variation from 8 to 13. Bay leaf extract was characterized using UV-Visible spectrophotometry to determine the wavelength absorption. The results showed that the bay leaf extract contains chlorophyll compounds which has absorption wavelengths of 664 nm and 410 nm for chlorophyll-a as well as at the wavelengths 613,5 nm and 466,5 nm for chlorophyll-b. In electrochemical characterization, the optimum pH of bay leaf extract was at pH 13 with a bandgap value is 0,60105 eV.Keywords: Bay leaf, DSSC, electrochemical, chlorophyllKlorofil merupakan pigmen tumbuhan yang berpotensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai zat warna (sensitizer) pada DSSC.
The purpose of this study is to determine the condition of water quality, trophic status, abundance and type of phytoplankton, and pollution load, as well as to formulate a conservative effort for reservoir management based on Lahor Reservoir conditions in 2017. The data needed for water quality analysis are total P, NO3-N, NO2-N, NH3-N, BOD, DO, TSS, and pH; hydrological and reservoir data such as rainfall data, the volume of the reservoir, reservoir catchment area, and Lahor reservoir outflow; as well as data on abundance and types of phytoplankton. The results of the water quality analysis of the Lahor Reservoir showed that it did not meet Class II water quality standards and trophic status, being eutrophic to hypereutrophic, which means the Lahor Reservoir has become polluted. The abundance of phytoplankton that occurs in the Lahor Reservoir exceeds the limit of the phytoplankton abundance that has been determined and is dominated by Microcystis blue-green algae. Therefore, the recommended efforts are bioremediation techniques, regulation of reservoir operation patterns, application of the Trophic Level-Based Aquaculture (TLBA) system, and introduction of rotifer zooplankton.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
