Purpose: This paper proposes a new model for further research on how to select criteria in supplier selection, through a literature review and analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of previously used methods.Design/methodology/approach: The methods used to select criteria in supplier selection were extracted from various online academic databases. The weaknesses and advantages of these methods were then analyzed. Based on these findings, several opportunities for improvement are proposed for further research. Finally, criteria design methods for the selection of suppliers are proposed using statistical multi-criteria decision making (S-MCDM) methods.Findings: Direction and guidance for subsequent research to select the criteria used in supplier selection, based on the advantages and disadvantages of the decision methods used.Research limitations/implications: Limitations of this study are that it is focused on the methods of criteria design in supplier selection.Practical implications: This study can provide a research direction on the selection of criteria for supplier selection.Social implications: This study provides ongoing guidance and avenues for further research.Originality/value: New ideas for working out the developmental strategy for criteria selection are provided by statistical MCDM methods in supplier selection.
One product that has a short life cycle is a fashion products where the consumer desires can influence the company's decision to develop the product. Batik is one of Indonesian local wisdom, which not all of batik in Indonesia has a high popularity, such as Batik Malangan. Kansei Engineering method used in this study to identify the implicit desire of users in the form of feeling, emotion, or perception when interacting with Batik Malangan. By implementing the procedures Kansei Engineering Type I, there are 30 words that appear using 14 stimulants of Batik Malangan. Statistical data analysis performed using multivariate analysis. The most important kansei words chosen by using Factor Analysis and Principal Component Analysis. In this study, a total of 61 respondents who are citizens of Malang and from outside Malang participated. For customers, the main attraction at the Batik Malangan is the motive, whether the primary motive, secondary motive, nor the isen motive. Until now, Batik Malangan's motive not yet have a characteristic, so it is less well known by customers. Overall, this study contributes to that Kansei Engineering is a method that can be used to capture the feeling of customers mainly on customized products. With so many product variations based on local wisdom should be able to be developed by actually capturing the customer's desire, not only explicit but also implicit.
Production planning is a plan aimed at controlling the quantity of products produced. Production planning is very important to be carried out by the company so that the production will always be controlled. It is very difficult to plan production with a variety of product variations because each product certainly has a different demand value from its customers. This has become a complex problem so an algorithm is needed to overcome these problems. Simulated Annealing can produce optimal solutions more effectively and efficiently. Production costs generated by applying Simulated Annealing are Rp. 6,902,406,000, - for all types of products, which is better than existing condition.
Total productive Maintenance (TPM) is an initiative to optimize the effectiveness of manufacturing equipment which the objectives are elimination of all accidents, defects and downtimes [5]. The PendahuluanTantangan yang hadapi dalam suatu perusahaan adalah bagaimana meningkatkan produktivitas yang lebih tinggi dari proses produksinya. Untuk itu kelancaran proses produksi menjadi fokus utama dalam perusahaan karena terjadi kegiatan transformasi dari input menjadi output didalamnya. Salah satu faktor pendukung agar proses produksi tersebut berjalan dengan lancar adalah meningkatkan efektivitas mesin agar selalu optimal, karena apabila dalam mesin produksi tersebut tidak efektif yaitu dengan sering berhentinya mesin selama dalam menjalankan fungsinya (beroperasi) yang disebabkan adanya berbagai macam losses yang terjadi, maka dipastikan produksi tersebut akan terganggu dan merugikan perusahaan secara luas baik dari segi operasional maupun kepuasan pelanggan.Losses adalah kerugian-kerugian yang ditanggung oleh perusahaan karena adanya waktu produksi yang terbuang atau adanya kerusakan yang mengakibatkan mesin tidak dapat bekerja sebagaimana mestinya. Adapun mesin utama yang dimiliki oleh UD. Aliya adalah mesin bordir komputer yang digunakan untuk menjahit bordir dengan berbagai motif yang diinginkan oleh pelanggan karena proses kerjanya untuk mesin bordir komputer ini adalah diatur sesuai dengan program untuk mendapatkan bentuk-bentuk motif yang diinginkan.Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan pada proses pembordiran, ditemukan berbagai macam losses (kerugian) yang menyebabkan mesin tidak efektif seperti yang disajikan pada Diagram Pareto pada Gambar 1. Pada gambar 1, total waktu losses adalah 2719,1 detik/proses yang menunjukkan bahwa perusahaan mengalami kerugian waktu proses yaitu sebesar 2719,1detik/proses karena adanya gangguan mesin yang mengakibatkan mesin tidak dapat bekerja sebagaimana mestinya untuk menghasillkan produk.
Production and distribution system in a company should be managed carefully. Delay in product delivery not only results in a late penalty due to customer dissatisfaction or breach of contract, but also causes a supply chain failure. Of course, all these impacts will also reduce the reputation of a company. Scheduling integrated production-distribution is classified as NP-Hard problem. Genetic algorithm can be used to solve complex problem. In this paper, genetic algorithm is used for scheduling production-distribution in make to order system where each job has a different deadline and volume (size). This problem is represented on mixed integer programing model. We verify the genetic algorithm’s performance by comparing the results with the total cost calculated by lower bounds of the problems. Experiments show that the traditional initial random cannot produce good result with more than 15 job size problem. We proposed guided initial chromosome to tackle this problem. From further experiments shows that the proposed method approach can increase the performances of genetic algorithm in more than 15 job size problem. In general, proposed genetic algorithm with guided initial chromosome shows better solution quality and better time efficiency compared to previous related research.
