Less of adolescent were able to overcome some obstacles in transitional periode, many of them experienced some unpleasant events. Lack of preparedness in dealing with various problems of life, could be a factor triggered a higher risk of depression. Depression is undetectable from its occurrence, but usually known after several problems happened, following the suicide phenomenon as the third biggest cause of adolescents death in the world. The research purposed of knowing the behavior of adolescents that occurred as the depression symptom and its problems accompanied. This study used quantitative descriptive methode. New entry college students (ages 16 -18 years) participated in data collelction. Samples were hired by using purposive sampling methode. Among 230 students who assessed with Child Depression Inventory (CDI), found 17 depression students and 65 potentially depression students that participate further in this study. The results showed, there were some behaviors reflected by its most common symptoms of depression experienced by the samples, such as consider of low in self-esteem, difficulty in concentrating, lost of interest in activity, drastic weight changes, and difficulty in sleeping through the night. Furthermore, the matters attached were mostly related to body dissatisfaction, poor learning achievement, getting unpleasant treatment from others, both friends and parents, and the relationship between parents who problematic. As the problems persisted being aware of, it is expected to make parents to be more sensitive, and recognize their adolescent behaviors that might become symptoms of depression and know the events that were at risk of causing depression.
Most women have a concern toward their physical appearance. Therefore, they often compare their physical appearance, especially their body shape, with other women's body shapes which are more attractive. The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between social comparison and body dissatisfaction among early adult women. Social comparison is the process of comparing oneself with others, whereas body dissatisfaction is the negative individual's feelings, thoughts, and evaluation toward her body shape. Social comparison and body dissatisfaction were measured using Body Comparison Scale (BCS) and Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ). The participants were 104 female students of Faculty of Psychology, University of Surabaya aged 18-25 years old. The result showed that social comparison was positively correlated with body dissatisfaction among early adult women (r= .636, p< .05). It means that the early adult women are more prone to experience higher body dissatisfaction if they more often compare their body shapes with more attractive women.
Banyak anak yang melakukan tindakan kejahatan di Indonesia. Tindakan kejahatan terjadi karena kontrol diri rendah. Untuk meningkatkan kontrol diri diperlukan kemampuan untuk bisa menerima segala kondisi yang menekan atau kurang menyenangkan dalam kehidupan. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan adalah berbelas-kasih terhadap diri sendiri (self-compassion). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-compassion dengan kontrol diri pada anak didik di lembaga pembinaan khusus anak (LPKA) kelas I Blitar. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif survei dengan persentase penelitian sebesar 58.73 % dari total populasi. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling insidental. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan skala self-compassion dan skala kontrol diri. Analisis korelasi product moment menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara self-compassion dengan kontrol diri anak didik di lembaga pembinaan khusus anak (LPKA) kelas I Blitar. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen diperlukan untuk menguji pengaruh self-compassion terhadap kontrol diri anak didik di lembaga pembinaan khusus anak (LPKA) kelas I Blitar.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-compassion training on self control in students at Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas I Blitar. The research method used in this study is a combined method (mix method) between quantitative and also qualitative. The research participants were two people aged 15 years and 17 years with cases of violence and murder at the Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas I Blitar. Data collection is done by interviewing, observing, and also self-report through filling in the self-control scale and self-compassion scale. This study uses the experimental design of single case experiment design. Quantitative data analysis in this study uses trend analysis. Analysis of qualitative data is carried out in several stages such as data reduction, presentation, data, and verification. The results of data analysis showed that self-compassion training had different effects on both participants. Self-compassion training can improve self control in one participant. The implication of this study is that forensic psychologists should provide self-compassion training with a longer duration for students at Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas I Blitar. In addition, forensic psychologists should combine self-compassion training with other interventions according to the characteristics of participants. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan self-compassion terhadap kontrol diri pada anak didik di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas I Blitar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode gabungan (mix method) antara kuantitatif dan juga kualitatif. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah dua orang yang berusia 15 tahun dan 17 tahun dengan kasus kekerasan dan pembunuhan di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas I Blitar. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan juga self-report melalui pengisian skala kontrol diri dan skala self-compassion. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen single case experiment design. Analisis data kuantitatif dalam penelitian ini menggunakan trend analysis. Analisis data kualitatif dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan seperti reduksi data, penyajian, data, dan verifikasi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan self-compassion memiliki pengaruh yang berbeda pada kedua partisipan. Pelatihan self-compassion mampu meningkatkan kontrol diri pada salah satu partisipan. Implikasi dari penelitian ini yaitu psikolog forensik sebaiknya memberikan pelatihan self-compassion dengan durasi waktu yang lebih lama untuk anak didik di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas I Blitar. Selain itu, psikolog forensik sebaiknya mengkombinasikan pelatihan self-compassion dengan intervensi lain sesuai dengan karakteristik partisipan.
Antosocial personality disorder experienced by someone caused them to take deviant actions and violate the norms and values of their surrounding, so that many of them are prisoners who are in custody. This study aims to determine the personality dynamics possessed by prisoner who experienced antisocial personality disorders. The researcher will also identify several causes that make up a person experiencing an antisocial personality disorder. The researcher used a case study method with a qualitative approach. There is one participant in this study, namely Mahmud, an prisoner of a homicide and involved in an abductions case. During the research process, researcher used observation, interviews, and several psychological tests. The finding shows that antisocial personality disorders experienced by participants was not formed when he was in the adult period, but since his childhood some deviant behavior were indicated. In addition, external factors also have influence in forming a person who has an antisocial personality disorder.
