Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sistem pemeliharaan dan potensi pengembangan ternak sapi potong di Kecamatan Lawa Kabupaten Muna Barat. Penelitian dilaksanakan padabulan Desember 2017 sampai Januari 2018. Penentuaan lokasi dilakukan secara sengaja (purposive sampling). Penentuan jumlah sampel menggunakan rumus Slovin dan diperoleh 62 responden. Variabel yang diukur pada penelitian ini adalah karakteristik peternak, potensi sumber daya alam, dan populasi ternak ruminansia. Data dianalisis menggunakan rumus location quotient (LQ) serta rumus growth share. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem pemeliharaan sapi potong di Kecamatan Lawa dilakukan secara semi intensif. Sektor peternakan di Kecamatan Lawa mempunyai nilai LQ sebesar 1,05 (LQ>1), nilai growth sebesar 4,42 (+) dan nilai share sebesar 8,45 (+). Sektor peternakan di Kecamatan Lawa merupakan sektor basis yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan daerahnya
INTISARIPenelitian dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi permintaan daging broiler di Kota Kendari, mengetahui respon (elastisitas) jumlah penduduk, pendapatan, harga daging broiler, daging sapi, daging ayam buras, telur, ikan bandeng, minyak goreng, beras dan kejadian flu burung terhadap perubahan permintaan daging broiler, dan memprediksi kebutuhan daging broiler di Kota Kendari. Penentuan lokasi dilakukan secara sengaja berdasarkan populasi terbesar. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif analisis menggunakan data sekunder (time series) tahun1994-2008 meliputi jumlah penduduk, pendapatan, harga daging broiler, daging sapi, daging ayam buras, telur, ikan bandeng, minyak goreng dan beras. Estimasi fungsi permintaan menggunakan analisis Regresi Linier Berganda dalam logaritma. Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa secara bersama-sama variabel independen memberikan pengaruh signifikan (P<0,01) terhadap variabel dependen dengan nilai R 2 sebesar 0,9804. Secara parsial jumlah penduduk, pendapatan, harga daging broiler, harga daging sapi, harga telur, harga ikan bandeng, harga minyak goreng dan harga beras, masing-masing berpengaruh terhadap permintaan daging broiler. Prediksi konsumsi daging broiler tahun 2015 mencapai 428.463 kg. Peningkatan jumlah penduduk, pendapatan perkapita, harga daging sapi dan ikan bandeng dapat menyebabkan meningkatnya permintaan daging broiler. Peningkatan harga daging broiler, minyak goreng dan beras dapat menurunkan permintaan daging broiler. Elastisitas pendapatan terhadap permintaan daging broiler masyarakat Kota Kendari bernilai positif dan kurang dari satu, menunjukkan bahwa daging broiler termasuk barang superior yang merupakan barang kebutuhan pokok. Elastisitas harga daging broiler sendiri bersifat inelastis yang menunjukkan daging broiler merupakan barang kebutuhan pokok. Daging broiler merupakan barang substitusi bagi daging sapi dan ikan bandeng, sedangkan minyak goreng dan beras termasuk barang komplementer. T here is a continuous increase in the growth of the animal husbandry industry in Indonesia, especially the poultry sector, due to the increasing demand for related products and population growth. The local village chicken plays an essential role in the lives of Indonesian and is associated with cultural development, especially in rural areas, where it is a major source of meat and eggs to fulfill the nutritional demands of the people. However, the development of local poultry in the country, especially village chicken, is still very slow compared to commercial chicken breeds. This condition is due to the relatively low genetic potential, inadequate management, and the use of traditional feeds with low quality (Nataamijaya, 2017). According to Budiansyah ( 2010), approximately 70-80% full-scale fabrication value of livestock business depends on the feed. Therefore, the optimal quality and quantity of feed are needed to improve growth.One of the effects of Covid-19 is the disruption in the supply of mostly imported protein source feedstuffs, such as fish and soybean meal. These ingredients are required to formulate a ration containing balanced nutrition to meet the needs of poultry for optimal production. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui berapa besar konsumsi pangan asal ternak dan pengaruh faktor sosial ekonomi terhadap konsumsi pangan asal ternak di Kota Kendari. Populasi penelitian meliputi masyarakat Kota Kendari yang mengkonsumsi pangan asal ternak. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis Regresi Linier Berganda yang dilanjutkan dengan uji F dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi pangan asal ternak adalah 63,46 gram/kapita/hari yang terdiri dari daging sapi sebesar 1,10 gram/kapita/hari, ayam sebesar 33,59 gram/kapita/hari, telur sebesar 22,09 gram/kapita/hari, dan susu 6,68 gram/kapita/hari.Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa secara bersama-sama variabel independen memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan (P<0,01) terhadap variabel dependen dengan nilai R2 sebesar 0,79. Secara parsial, pendidikan dan tanggungan keluarga memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan (P<0,01) terhadap konsumsi pangan asal ternak. Konsumsi pangan asal ternak di Kota Kendari dipengaruhi oleh variabel pendidikan dan tanggungan keluarga sedangkan variabel umur dan pendapatan tidak menunjukkan adanya pengaruh terhadap konsumsi pangan asal ternak di Kota Kendari. The population of Indonesia in 2021 is about 273 million people. The increasing population is followed by an increase in food needs, including animal food. The area of land as a base of food production does not increase, even tends to decrease due to conversion, abrasion, and submerged seawater as a result of global warming and climate change, as well as the declining quality of natural resources. Animal protein consumption in Indonesia is very low and is expected to increase sharply as the income of the population continues to increase. Anticipating this, it is necessary to prepare a medium- and long-term farm development strategy in a sustainable manner by utilizing the availability of local resources. Exploring the genetic resources of livestock that are efficient in the use of feed, should also be able to utilize feed materials in the form of crop byproducts and agricultural industries. This policy should be supported by technological innovation and sustainable productivity and livestock production. Can save natural resources while reducing greenhouse gas emissions in order to realize the concept of green economy.
