Guncangan dahsyat Covid 19, telah menginfeksi setidaknya 6 juta orang di dunia dan hampir 400.000 orang diantaranya meninggal dunia. Akibatnya kehidupan manusia di berbagai sektor terguncang hebat, termasuk sektor pendidikan. Pembelajaran daring disemua jenjang pendidikan tak terkecuali PAUD, adalah solusi terbaik saat ini. Kepala sekolah perlu melakukan langkah strategis agar proses pendidikan PAUD tetap berjalan dan kualitas tetap terjaga. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeksripsikan bagaimana strategi kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan taman kanak-kanak pada masa pandemi Covid 19 di Kota Cimahi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif survei. Subjek penelitian adalah 112 Kepala TK di Kota Cimahi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan, strategi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan TK pada masa pandemi Covid 19 sangat baik (85,90%). Process Approach (88,24%) merupakan skor teringgi, menunjukan pendekatan proses menjadi prioritas utama dilakukan. Sedangkan tanggung jawab (81,21%) merupakan skor terendah, menunjukan belum optimalnnya pelaksanaan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah masa pandemi covid 19.
Literasi sains merupakan salah satu kecakapan memahami fenomena alam dan sosial yang terjadi di sekitar. Kemampuan literasi sains penting dimiliki oleh guru. Dengan kemampuan literasi sains yang baik maka, guru mampu menentukan pembelajaran yang tepat untuk mengembangkan kemampuan peserta didik. Berdasarkan studi lapangan, guru PAUD mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami literasi sains. Mereka merasa bingung bagaimana mengaplikasikannya dalam pembelajaran anak usia dini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan literasi sains guru melalui pelatihan sains kreatif. Peserta pelatihan ini adalah guru-guru PAUD yang berada di Kabupaten Bandung. Adapun jumlah peserta yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini adalah 35 orang guru PAUD. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pra-experimental design dengan jenis one-group pretest-posttest design. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui tes yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah diberikan treatment. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah literasi sains guru mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan sains kreatif berdampak positif bagi peningkatan literasi sains guru.
Music learning is believed to have positive impact and influence on children's development. Teachers' understanding of music advocates for music learning practices which are applied in early childhood education. Many literatures explain that the teachers' perceptions and knowledge of music are very important in the learning process. Teachers' positive attitude towards music is believed to be an important factor in the success of music learning for early childhood. This paper aims to explore teachers' understanding of music for early childhood. The varieties of teachers' educational backgrounds establish different attitudes and understanding. To collect information, the author conducts library research by examining literatures that discuss the importance of music in early childhood education and teachers' perceptions of music for early childhood. The results presented in this paper strengthen the opinion that teachers' perceptions and knowledge of music affect the practice of music learning in early childhood education.
Critical thinking skills are skills that a person needs to have. Therefore developing students’ critical thinking skills is one of the main goals in 21st century education. The purpose of this study is to describe the critical thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students on natural science subjects on water cycle topics. The research method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method. The participants of this study were 25 elementary school students in Bandung city. The data is collecting by tests, interviews and documentation. After the data is obtained, the test is processed and analyzed using quantitative methods. The results of interviews and documentation studies were analyzed using descriptive methods. The research results showed that the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students in the elementary school of Bandung city were in the very poor category. The average score of students’ critical thinking skills is 48.3 (very low). The interview results show that students’ critical thinking skills are low because students do not like the type of description questions and because they did not willing to write. Students, who are in the low and medium category, are having another reason, which is they do not like to learn science.
The era of the industrial revolution 4.0 is a changing development era that integrates cyber and automation technology that have a broad impact throughout the entire field, including education. This caused a great demand for existing human resources as the key to the success of a nation. Some abilities that must be possessed are critical thinking, creative, collaborative, innovative and good communication skills. The phenomenon that occurs, many teachers and parents only provide one-way learning without freeing children to develop their imagination, so that young children are not accustomed to being confronted with a problem that requires them to find solutions to these problems. This article aims to explain how early childhood should be given a habit that requires them to develop their curiosity to prepare them to face competition in the 4.0 revolution era. The method used in this article is a literature review of early childhood curiosity development. The results of the literature review indicate that the development of early childhood curiosity will increase if given the facilities, direction and good habituation to involve them in decision making, and demanded children's participation. This article is expected to provide understanding for teachers and parents in providing learning for early childhood as a millennial generation.
