The major alkaloids obtained from an Egyptian sample of Fumaria judaica Boiss. were stylopine, protopine and Parfumine (2-hydroxy, 3-methoxy-8-ket~ ochotensane). Coptisine, cheilanthifoline and bicuculline were obtained as minor alkaloids. The alkaloid "fumjudaineu is identical to stylopine.
Marrubium alysson L. (Labiatae) grows wild on the Mediterranean coastal strip and in Sinai [1]. It has a wide reputation in Egypt as a diuretic and a remedy for asthma. The present work reports the isolation of 3-sitosterol glucoside, choline, apigenin and its 7.0-arabinsoside and 7.0-glucoside.
