Objectives:Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.) Nees originates from India and grows widely in many areas in Southeast Asian countries. Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.) Nees has shown an antidiabetic effect in type 1 DM rats. The present study investigates the purified extract of the plant and its active compound andrographolide for antidiabetic and antihyperlipidemic effects in high-fructose-fat-fed rats, a model of type 2 DM rats.Materials and Methods:Hyperglycemia in rats was induced by high-fructose-fat diet containing 36% fructose, 15% lard, and 5% egg yolks in 0.36 g/200 gb.wt. 55 days. The rats were treated with the extract or test compound on the 50th day. Antidiabetic activity was measured by estimating mainly the pre– and postprandial blood glucose levels and other parameters such as cholesterol, LDL, triglyceride, and body weight.Results:The purified extract and andrographolide significantly (P<0.05) decreased the levels of blood glucose, triglyceride, and LDL compared to controls. However, no changes were observed in serum cholesterol and rat body weight. Metformin also showed similar effects on these parameters.Conclusions:Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.) Nees or its active compound andrographolide showed hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effects in high-fat-fructose-fed rat.
Preeklampsia berat sering terjadi pada ibu hamil. Pengobatan preeklampsia berat dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian antihipertensi untuk mencegah penyakit serebrovaskular dan kematian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil penurunan proteinuria, tekanan darah, dan penggunaan antihipertensi pada pasien preeklampsia berat di Instalasi Rawat Inap RSUD dr. Soedarso Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasional dengan rancangan penelitian potong lintang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara retrospektif dari rekam medis pasien preeklampsia berat rawat inap selama periode Januari-Desember 2018. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama bulan Oktober-Desember 2019 di RSUD dr. Soedarso Pontianak. Sampel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 62 pasien. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 32,27% pasien mengalami penurunan nilai proteinuria dengan rata-rata penurunan sebesar dipstik (+)1 sedangkan nilai proteinuria dipstik yang tetap terdapat pada 67,73% pasien dengan mayoritas pasien memiliki nilai proteinuria dipstik (+)3. Penurunan rata-rata tekanan darah sistolik/diastolik (TDS/TDD) pada pasien preeklampsia berat sebesar 28,58/17,69 mmHg. Antihipertensi yang digunakan yaitu nifedipin (14,52%), metildopa (8,06%), furosemid (1,61%). Penggunaan antihipertensi kombinasi paling banyak digunakan adalah kombinasi nifedipin dan metildopa sebanyak 40,32%. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat penurunan tekanan darah dan proteinuria pada pasien preeklampsia berat yang menggunakan antihipertensi. Walaupun demikian, beberapa pasien preeklampsia berat masih memiliki kadar proteinurianya dalam kondisi tetap. Antihipertensi yang paling banyak digunakan pada pasien preeklampsia berat di Instalasi Rawat Inap RSUD dr. Soedarso Pontianak yaitu kombinasi nifedipin dan metildopa.

AbstrakEkstrak ikan Gabus (Channa striata) terdiri dari fase air yang mengandung albumin dan fase minyak yang mengandung asam lemak omega-3 dan omega-6 yang dapat mempercepat proses penyembuhan luka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas sediaan salep yang mengandung ekstrak ikan gabus pada proses penyembuhan luka pada tikus jantan galur wistar yang diberikan secara topikal pada 6 kelompok. Pada kulit tikus dibuat luka akut stadium II terbuka, kemudian luka tersebut diolesi dengan sediaan salep dan proses penyembuhannya diamati selama 16 hari. Luas area luka diamati dengan program Macbiophotonic Image J. Persentase penyembuhan luka dihitung berdasarkan luas area lukanya dan dilanjutkan perhitungan nilai AUC. Hasil nilai AUC tiap kelompok dari terkecil hingga terbesar adalah kelompok normal (702,84% x hari), negatif (749,56% x hari), positif (765.146% x hari ), salep yang mengandung fase air ekstrak ikan gabus 10% (795,146% x hari), salep yang mengandung fase minyak ekstrak ikan gabus 10% (837.282 % x hari), dan salep kombinasi fase air-minyak ekstrak ikan gabus 10% (874,901% x hari). Data dianalisa dengan Program SPSS versi 22.0 menggunakan One Way ANOVA dan Post Hoc Test-LSD. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan (p<0,05) antara kelompok perlakuan salep kombinasi fase air-minyak ekstrak ikan gabus dengan kelompok kontrol negatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa salep kombinasi fase air-minyak ekstrak ikan gabus 10% memiliki efektivitas penyembuhan terhadap luka akut stadium II terbuka. AbstractThe snakehead (Channa striata) extract contains albumin (in its water phase) and omega-3 and omega-6 (in its oil phase) which have been proven to be effective in wound healing process. This research was aimed to determine wound healing effect of snakehead extract-containing ointment on 6 groups of male Wistar rats. The rat's skin was wounded to produce acute stage II opened wound, the ointment was applied for sixteen days, and wound healing process was observed. The width of the wound was measured by using Macbiophotonic Image J program. The AUC results of each groups from smallest to largest were normal group (702.84% x day), negative group (749.56% x day), positive group (765.146% x day), water phase-containing ointment 10% group (795.146% x day), oil phase-containing ointment 10% (837.282% x day), and water-oil-phase combination ointment 10% (874.901% x day). The data were analyzed using One-Way ANOVA and Post-Hoc LSD test. The result of this research showed significant differences (p<0.05) between groups of water-oil phase combination of snakehead extract ointment with a negative control group. This research result showed that ointment containing water-oil phase combination of snakehead extract had wound healing effect on acute stage II opened wound.
