Abstrak: Implementasi Etika Islam dalam Perbankan Syariah: Suatu Analisis dari Perspektif Kepuasan Nasabah. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menguji tingkat kepuasan nasabah pada bank syariah di Aceh sebagai akibat dari pelaksanaan Etika Kerja Islam (EKI). Secara spesifik, tulisan ini bermaksud untuk menelaah perbedaan kepuasan dari nasabah Bank Umum Syariah (BUS), Unit Usaha Syariah (UUS), dan Bank Pembiayaan Rakyat Syariah (BPRS). Kajian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif yang diimplementasikan melalui kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada 600 orang nasabah dari tujuh bank syariah di Aceh. Data dianalisis melalui statistik deskriptif dan inferensial dalam software SPSS. Hasil kajian ini secara umum menemukan bahwa mayoritas nasabah memiliki tingkat kepuasan yang tinggi terhadap bank syariah sebagai akibat dari implementasi EKI dalam operasional bank syariah. Secara khusus, nasabah BUS mempunyai skor kepuasan tertinggi dibandingkan dua kategori bank lainnya.Abstract: This study aims to investigate the level of customer satisfaction as a result of the Islamic Work Ethics (IWE) implementation in Islamic banks in Aceh, Indonesia. Specifically, it examines the difference in perceiving satisfaction among customers of Islamic Commercial Banks (ICB), Islamic Business Units (IBU), and Islamic Rural Banks (IRB). The study incorporated a quantitative method which was employed through questionnaire surveys that were distributed to 600 respondents of seven Islamic banks. The data were then analyzed using descriptive and inferential analyses in SPSS. The findings of this research revealed that in general, the customers have shown a high satisfaction on the IWE practiced in Islamic banking institutions. Particularly, the ICB scored the highest satisfaction level compared to the other banking categories.
Ethics play an important role in producing ethical staffs for managing an organization. Ethical staffs perform their duties ethically and offer the best services to the customers. Islamic banking institutions, as Shariah compliant financial institutions, should encourage their employees to implement Islamic work ethics (IWE) to enhance their performance. This article aims to examine the level of IWE commitment among employees of Islamic banks in Aceh. It specifically compares the employee's commitment level on IWE between three categories of Islamic banking in Aceh, namely, the Islamic Commercial Bank (ICB), the Islamic Business Unit (IBU), and the Islamic Rural Bank (IRB). The world has seen rapid growth the development of halal food industry in recent years. At the same time, issues regarding the quality of halal food are also increasing, such as inconsistent flavours, portions, and incomplete orders. Hence, relevant halal food guidelines and regulations must also emphasise the tayyiban aspect of food. In this regard, the tayyiban aspect is related to food quality, where the guidelines and regulations must not only ensure the food is halal, but also the quality must fulfil the required standards. This paper attempts to examine existing guidelines and regulations in Malaysia related to halal food, such as the Manual Procedure for Malaysia Halal Certification (Domestic) 2020 (MPPHM 2020), Clean, Safe and Healthy (BeSS), Food Regulations 1985 (PPM 1985), Food Act 1983, Trade Descriptions Act 2011 (APD 2011), and Consumer Protection Act 1999 (APP 1999). This study utilises content analysis on documents related to the guidelines and regulations. The results of the study found that the guidelines and regulations adequately cover the essential aspects in assuring acceptable food quality. While there are areas that can be improved, overall, sufficient guidelines and regulations are already in place.
Zakat is an important Islamic institution in Malaysia. The development of the institution has been through time influenced by the changing social, political and economic situation of the country. One of the important phenomena that shaped the institution is the Islamization process which happened during Islamic revivalism which ushered in the early 1970s. The scenario and the social change that happened during the era have resulted in the zakat has been one of the institutions which government keened to enhance in the later decades. This article discusses the brief development of zakat institution in post Malaysian Islamic revivalism era, through which eventually, the impact of the revivalism on the institution will be clearly observed. As has been self-evident throughout the discussion, supported by the data of collection over the years, the zakat institution, apart from its fundamental role as religious duty, has been through time playing a greater role in social and economy. .
Public relations are one of the essential elements for most of the organisations today. It is a center of focus in the organisations for channeling and disseminating the information both internally and internationally. Usually, public relations unit is the entity that responsible and directly involved in the public relations process. However, in the absence of a dedicated public relations unit, other people or units play a role in carrying out public relations responsibilities. In fact, most of the organisations use public relations to handle current issues or difficulties. Besides, it is used as one of the channels to publicize the achievements and successes achieved by the organisations. While conducting public relations, it might cause several issues such as non-transparency, interruption and inconsistencies. These should be avoided because they are not only destroying the social norms but also religious norms. Thus, this article will explain the fundamentals of Islamic public relations. Data are gathered through library study, as well as research on the Qur’an, Sunnah, and history. Next, it will be analysed using content analysis. Based on the findings, there are five elements of Islamic public relations: (1) create understanding, (2) protect the truth, (3) honor the promises, (4) use acceptable language and (5) take appropriate approach. The outcomes of this research will contribute to the development of knowledge in the field of public relations in general and Islamic public relations in particular.
