Purpose: Identify some recent research on the use of online-based psychoeducation intervention for people with bipolar disorders and online education for their family. The process of searching uses keywords: mHealth, eHealth, a smartphone application, web-based, relatives, caregiver, psychoeducation, and bipolar disorders
Methodology: 60 articles discuss bipolar disorder, only 10 articles are suitable for the inclusion criteria. The various program was created to deal with bipolar disorder problems for both patients and their families. Online psychoeducation is effective for people with bipolar disorder to overcome barriers in the management of direct intervention. Reporting complaints, symptoms and often uncontrolled feelings can be done immediately by using the program.
Main Findings: Online psychoeducation is effective for people with bipolar disorder to overcome barriers in the management of direct intervention. Online psychoeducation can also save costs and facilitate access and services to obtain information that is needed by patients and their families. Reporting complaints, symptoms and often uncontrolled feelings can be done immediately by using the program. For the families, online intervention is very effective because of the availability of information are felt to be very effective of information on how to handle people bipolar disorder as well as details about self-control management for themselves.
Applications: Online psychoeducation should continue to develop not only for the patient but also for primary family caregivers. This article collects, analyze and confirm the requirement of online psychoeducation.
Novelty: Author did this study by reviewing published literature. This kind of analysis is first time done by the author for the suitability of online psychoeducation for bipolar disorder patients and their family.
BACKGROUND: To explores the nurses and health professionals' views about the need for nursing care for drug addiction clients.
AIM To explores the nurses and health professionals' views about the need of nursing care to care for drug addiction clients.
METHODOLOGY: This study used qualitative research and the data collection used interviews. The study involved ten nurses and ten health profession recruited from the three government centres of addiction services in the capital city of Indonesia. The analysis of the data using thematic analysis.
RESULTS: There were four themes Gray Area between Nurses and Other Health Workers in handling clients, The Role of Drug Addiction Nurses, Challenges and Strategies in caring for addiction clients and hopes.
CONCLUSION: Nurses in carrying out their duties must be equipped with knowledge, attitudes and special skills. The presence of a psychiatric nurse in the setting of drug addiction services needs to be considered a step in resolving the dilemma of drug addiction nursing services in Indonesia. Exceptional guidance and training for nurses in drug addiction services must be provided to improve nurses' knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviour in handling drugs addiction clients.
BACKGROUND: Schizophrenia is a condition in which people suffer from impaired ability to think, perceive, and show emotional responses and interact socially. Patients with schizophrenia can experience the risk of violent behavior (RVB). Psychotherapy is needed to deal with the problem.
AIM: This study aimed to investigate the effects of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and social skill training (SST) on signs and symptoms of risks of violent behavior (RVB).
METHODOLOGY: This study employed a quasi-experimental without a control group. The research samples used purposive sampling were 30 patients with symptoms of risks of violent behavior. Meanwhile, the measurement used the sign and symptom questioners of risks of violent behavior (Z = 0.791).
RESULT: This study revealed that signs and symptoms decreased significantly (p < 0.05) from 10.45 to 5.41 after the respondents had obtained the CBT. Moreover, after the respondents had received CBT and SST, the sign and symptoms decreased significantly (p < 0.05) from 5.41 to 0.52.
CONCLUSION: This study recommends that the combination of CBT and SST be administered to patients with schizophrenia with risks of violent behavior.
