Learning Arabic is more dominant as a skill than a Science. The learners’ goals are able to use Arabic both spoken and written well and correctly. While HOTS is more dominant in requiring learners to think integrally. Therefore, it is important to consider the extent to which the Ministerial Regulation accommodates HOTS through a study of the basic competence of Arabic contained in it. This study is a literature review of the basic competence of Arabic in the Decree of the Minister of Religion (KMA) number 183 in 2019 in HOTS perspective. The object of this study is the basic competence of Arabic in KMA 183 in 2019. The result shows the basic competence of Arabic in KMA 183 in 2019 to accommodate the ability in higher order thinking such as problem solving, critical thinking, and reasoning. While the Basic Competence in KMA didn’t achieve creative thinking and decision making.

Teaching reading skills based on interactive construction theory requires more complex teaching materials because the process involves the interaction between students and teaching materials in the form of direct information and latent information. In addition, the facts on the field show that the characteristics of adult learners are more likely to choose to study in comfortable places and more appropriate times. Therefore, teaching language using Google Apps is one of the best solutions to answer this problem. This research aims to develop a model of reading materials for special academic purposes for Islamic Education using the Google Apps for Education. The method used in this research is Research and Development method. The result of the research is as follows; (1) Using reading materials according to the learner’s need made them easier to understand how to determine their function in various model of sentences and the material is more in line with the needs of the learners. (2) This research reinforces Krashen’s input hypothesis idea, while the characteristics of the resulting material in this research reinforce Stravens’ theory of elements language programs for a special purpose. At last, using Google Application for Education in developing materials can encourage students to study more since it is more interactive and in line with students’ need

The research employed a research and development method modified from Borg and Gall, consisting of needs assessment, design, and development. The research objectives were to portray the material of teaching Arabic written in class ten at Islamic senior high school and design a model of enrichment material graded and used independently for the students who graduated from public junior high schools. The study showed that the students who graduated from public junior high school and continued study to Islamic senior high school must be assisted by an enrichment material for their independent study because the existing material did not match their previous knowledge. In this research, a model of teaching material was designed based on three characteristics; first, readability is the main character of supporting teaching material. Secondly, grammar and daily culture made it easier to grab meaning and were thirdly graded and comprehensive. The teaching material was accompanied by audio material for listening, conversation, and reading to the substitute teacher when the student studied independently.

<p><em>This study aims to examine the effect of reading Quran ability on reading skills, the effect of vocabulary mastery on reading skills, and the effect of reading Quran ability and vocabulary mastery on reading skills students at the Islamic senior high school Amuntai. This type of research is a survey, and the approach used in this research is quantitative. The population of this study was all students of Class XI majoring in MIA at the Islamic senior high school 1 HSU, the Islamic senior high school 2 HSU, and the Islamic senior high school NIPA RAKHA Amuntai, totaling 240 people, and with the sampling technique 25% of the existing population as many as 60 people. The data collection instrument is documentation. The data analysis technique uses multiple regression analysis. The results of this study showed that the reading Quran ability students were in the medium a value of 53%, the vocabulary mastery students were in the medium a value of 72%, and the reading skills students were in the medium a value of 67%. While the effect of reading Quran ability on reading skills was 66.3% which means that there was an effect between the reading Quran ability on reading skills students. While vocabulary mastery on reading skills was 79.4%, there was an effect. Moreover, the effect of reading Quran ability and vocabulary mastery on reading skills students was 85.9%, which means that there is an effect between the reading Quran ability and vocabulary mastery on reading skills students.</em></p><p><strong><em>Keyword</em></strong><em>: Reading Quran, Vocabulary Mastery, Reading Skills.</em></p><p><em> </em></p>

This paper discusses the difficulties of Arabic department students when dealing with Tarkîb al-Marfû’ât subject and the using of Zoom/forced technology due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Using the qualitative approach, this paper aimed to explore whether students were negatively impacted by switch of learning mode to online. Interviews were conducted to nine students who live in remote areas, and it revealed that those students experienced delay in learning the subject due to their lack of the internet availability. Teaching activities were not optimal due to signal interference so that the exposure to the relevant material was not comprehensive. Moreover the students also lacked understanding to the subject because of the specific difficulty level of the subject. The students missed additional explanations and material from the lecturer, even equipped examples. This paper contributes to educational policies in the ways Indonesian government addresses distance learning for students in Islamic higher education.
