In recent years there has been an increase in research focusing on the effectiveness of using video games as educational digital resources that can contribute to the learning process at different levels, which has also subsidised the development of educational games. However, these games are mostly visual and not accessible to people with visual impairments. As an educational resource, it is essential that the design of educational games be conducted not only with a focus on the balance between playful and educational aspects, but also with a focus on including the largest number of people. This article, therefore, aims to describe the design, implementation and evaluation processes of an accessible version of the educational game Em Busca do Santo Grau, based on EduGameAccess-a set of recommendations that integrates educational, playability and accessibility aspects for people with visual impairments.
This paper presents the educational game Taking Good Care, that aims to teach patient safety protocols for students of professional courses in nursing. This article presents the main functionalities of this game, its development, emphasing the results obtained by testing the first digital prototype of this game. It is believed that the results of this study should provide evidence to support the importance of innovative strategies in health, as well as to encourage the development of other educational games for Health.
This paper presents the educational game Musikinésia which was designed to help students of music courses in the identification of a musical keyboard, in addition to teaching other basic musical concepts such as tempo, accidentals and music reading. Beyond discussing how game-based learning can effectively contribute with teaching-learning process of musical content and specific care required for good educational games development, the main stages of the Musikinésia's development process are presented, emphasizing both the results obtained by testing it with the target audience and how it helped teacher in their teaching process.
This project aims to promote playful learning experiences through a virtual environment where the player can explore the use of virtual lab objects (equipment, glassware, reagents) to perform virtual experiments that are proposed throughout the game. In this context, the player has the opportunity to experience chemistry laboratory practice, often inaccessible, particularly in the context of distance education, considering that most students have difficulties in accessing the university's facilities and even the presence of support poles. As a result of the whole process of design and development of LabTecA, a prototype of the first stage of the game was developed and validated by an expert teacher of Analytical Chemistry.
