This article discusses Möbius transformation from the point of view of algebra to describe one of its geometric properties, i.e. preserving circles and lines in complex planes. In simple terms, this preservation means that Möbius transformation maps a collection of circles and lines (back) into a collection of circles and lines. In general, the discussion begins with an explanation of the definition of the Möbius transformation in the complex plane. The discussion continues on defining the basic mapping and direct affine transformation. These two concepts are used to prove the existence of the preservation properties of circles and lines in the Möbius transformation. It can be shown that the Möbius transformation can be expressed as a composition of the direct affine transform and the inverse. It can also be shown that the direct affine transform and the inverse both have the property of preserving circles and lines in the complex plane. Thus, it can be concluded that in this study the Möbius transformation has the property of preserving circles and lines in the complex plane.
The dominant external factors influencing student learning outcomes have been analyzed in this study. The participants of this study are year II and IV students of Mathematics Education FKIP Universitas Samudra in academic year of 2018/2019. Data collection used was questionnaire/questionnaire and interview. Approach and concept in this research using variable annotation with SPSS version 21. Interpretation of result of factor rotation indicate the formation of 3 factors together (main factor). The first to the third external factors that ranked first in the factors that are developing the results of the study of mathematics students FKIP Universitas Samudra in sequence is the community environment, school buildings, and campus environment.
The aims of this study are to analyze the effectiveness of students’ worksheets assisted with Google Form during the Covid-19 pandemic, to find out whether this worksheets would improve students’ interest and independence of learning, and to reveal the percentage of teachers’ interest to use this worksheets. The sample of the research was the whole junior high school mathematics teacher in Langsa Kota and the object of the research is the effectiveness of the worksheets which use Google Form. The data were collected by the instrument of questionnaire and observation. The students’ independence of learning were categorized into medium with the responses of 93% and teacher interest to use the worksheets is categorized high (more than 50% per category). It can be concluded that the use of the Google Form worksheets could improve students’ learning independence, stimulates students’ learning interest, and increase teacher interest to be able to use the worksheets with Google Form in their classroom.
Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada bulan oktober 2020 di SMP Negeri 5 Langsa, sebagai bentuk pengabdian dalam menjawab permasalahan yang sering muncul pada pembelajaran jarak jauh khususnya di kota Langsa. Pemilihan SMP Negeri 5 Langsa sebagai lokasi pengabdian kali ini didasari lokasi yang relatif dekat dan menjadi prioritas dalam pembangunan pendidikan khususnya di kota Langsa. Pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini diikuti oleh seluruh guru dari berbagai bidang studi yang ada di SMP Negeri 5 Langsa. Tahap pertama yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdi adalah melakukan studi awal dan survei lapangan untuk menganalisis permasalahan yang terjadi, kemudian mengupayakan solusi agar permasalahan yang terjadi dapat terselesaikan. Tahapan ke dua pelaksanaan kegiatan, untuk mengetahui keberhasilan dalam tahapan kegiatan ini, pengabdi memberikan kuesioner menggunakan google form terkait pendapat peserta terkait manfaat, kelebihan maupun kekurangan dari penggunaan google form sebagai media pemberian tugas online. Tahapan selanjutnya adalah pelatihan membuat google form sebagai media pembelajaran jarak jauh. Langkah akhir adalah menganalisis efektivitas kegiatan pengabdian. Hasil akhir rata-rata penilaian dari para peserta menunjukan 91.74% peserta setuju penggunaan google form sebagai media online efektif dan dari 11 indikator yang diberikan masing-masing menunjukan lebih dari 85% peserta memberikan respon positif.
Mathematics learning needs to act as a bridge between students’ everyday culture and mathematics in school. The digital age requires teachers to develop innovative interactive media that contains hands-on activities and can improve higher-order thinking skills. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) of interactive media, namely lectora inspire based on ethnomathematics with HOMTS orientation and learning by doing. The steps in this research are (1) potential problems; (2) data collection; (3) product design; (4) design validation; (5) design revisions; (6) product trials; and (7) product revisions. The results showed that lectora inspire based on ethnomathematics with HOMTS orientation and learning by doing is appropriate to be used as interactive media in learning linear equation systems for senior high school students.
