Limbah plastik dapat dikreasikan menjadi sejumlah kerajinan tangan berupa keranjang belanja, tempat tisu, tempat minuman gelas, aksesoris dan hiasan rumah lainnya yang tentu saja memiliki nilai jual. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberdayakan masyarakat melalui peluang usaha pemanfaatan limbah plastik sehingga akhirnya mendapat tambahan penghasilan. Target mitra yaitu masyarakat yang minat berwirausaha. Kegiatan PKM dijalankan melalui tahap, yaitu 1) persiapan dengan sosialisasi kegiatan kepada masyarakat, untuk memudahkan koordinasi maka akan dibentuk kelompok usaha kecil 2) pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan cara pelatihan dilengkapi dengan praktek langsung 3) pendampingan dilakukan selama pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan baik dalam proses produksi, inovasi produk, administrasi dan akuntansi sederhana, maupun pemasaran. Proses pemasaran dilakukan secara offline dan online. Dari hasil penyebaran kuesioner kepada peserta setelah PKM ini dilaksanakan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 80 % peserta telah sangat baik memahami teknik pembuatan produk inovatif yang diajarkan dan terdapat 83 % peserta telah memiliki tingkat pemahaman yang sangat baik terhadap penggunaan website/blog sebagai sarana pemasaran online.
This study aims to determine and explain the effect of teacher pedagogical competence on students achievement in the Office Management Automation Department of YAPIS Biak Vocational High School. This study uses an associative approach with descriptive statistical data analysis techniques with percentage, mean and standard deviation and statistical analysis of inference by using data normality tests, product moment correlations, and simple linear regression. The results of this study state that teacher’s pedagogical competence significantly influences the students achievement, therefore it is recommended that school personnel, especially school principals and teachers, should improve the quality of teacher pedagogical competencies, so that student achievement can be better for the achievement of educational goals at school.
Realitas sosial selalu tidak lepas dari konflik dan ketegangan relasi sosial. Tulisan ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dua studi kasus, yaitu kehidupan sosial masyarakat Poso pasca konflik dan relasi sosial antar etnik di Biak Papua yang diteliti secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa masyarakat Poso faktual masih terikat oleh ingatan konflik dimasa lalu yang menghambat proses damai sejati. Sedangkan relasi sosial antara etnik pribumi dengan etnik pendatang ditanah Biak Papua turut mengalami ketegangan sosial akibat dari kompetisi ekonomi sehingga mematikan nilai-nilai kooperatif. Disimpulkan bahwa masyarakat Indonesia rentan mengalami keretakan yang berakibat pada kehancuran modal sosial kepercayaan (trust). Disarankan pentingnya revitalisasi nilai-nilai budaya lokal serta dukungan kebijakan tata kelola konflik yang inheren.
The low educational level of the government employees at the State Civil Service and Human Resources Development Agency of Biak Numfor Regency in Papua Province affects the quality of public services which was far from the society's expectations. The development of competence that has been given so far had not been able to change the primal aspects of the government employees. Therefore, the development of competence provided must touch the large and varied cultural diversity that leads to the improvement of knowledge, capability, and skills to generate better performance and services. This study aims to analyze the development of the government employees' competence at the State Civil Service and Human Resources Development Agency of Biak Numfor Regency, Papua Province. The method used in this research was descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Primary data was collected through observation, interviews and Focus Group Discussion (FGD); the respondents were the government employees in the State Civil Service and Human Resource Development Agency of Biak Numfor Regency, Papua Province. Secondary data were obtained through documentation studies. The data were analyzed using interactive models. The results showed that the process of developing the socio-cultural competence of the government employees in the State Civil Service and Human Resource Development Agency of Biak Numfor Regency, Papua Province was through: 1) BIMTA (Mental and Spiritual Guidance), 2) JUMAT BELI (Friday clean environment program), 3) Leadership Advice through meetings and assembly, 4) Education and Training, which still need to be improved such as providing special program through education and training, seminars, courses, and upgrading related to socio-cultural competence to encourage them to have national insights with a pluralistic society in terms of religion, ethnicity, culture, and able to adapt and communicate effectively, empathetically, and politely among employees and the society.
This study aims to determine and explain the relationship between the leadership style of the head of the environmental agency with the employees’ performance. This study uses a quantitative survey approach that is ex-post facto and principal on phenomena or events that have occurred and are still ongoing until the study is conducted, using descriptive statistical data analysis techniques, inferential descriptive analysis, and testing requirements analysis including normative data tests conducted by using the SPSS program with the Kolmogorov Smirnov One Sample test. The results of this study stated that the relationship between leadership style or leadership behavior of the head of service to the performance of employees in the Environmental Service Agency of Biak Numfor regency is not so large, only about 10 percent, which meant that the employee's performance was more determined by other variables not included in this study.
