Characteristics of children’s paintings have been suggested considered for application in public art since they are known to positively evoke a sense of well-being when people see them. This study aims to understand the impact of artistic features from children’s drawings on people’s well-being; then analyzing the adaptive design principles of 3D public art featuring children’s paintings on people’s happiness; and finally, exploring the influence of 3D public art featuring children’s paintings on improving public spaces and enhancing people’s well-being. The results lead to proposing a conceptual framework for public artworks in public spaces for improving people’s happiness. The proposed conceptual framework recommends that, by applying the visual and thinking features of children’s paintings to public art, artists can design high-quality artworks suitable for a city, which could improve people’s happiness in public spaces. This study recommends further research into how public art can promote public spaces and shape the urban culture. It contributes to enhancing the quality of public art and public spaces, and inspiring a sense of well-being among citizens through the use of appropriate public art. The results are significant because they will help artists to create more high-quality public artworks for urban public spaces in order to evoke people’s happiness.
The sales growth rate of men's plain-colour shirts dropped significantly online in China. Consumers first pay attention to
the appearance design of clothing online. It only takes 7 seconds for consumers to determine a product, and the colour
in its appearance design accounts for about 67% of the role. Thus, this study took the colour design of men's plain-colour
shirts as an example in China, established the basic colour calculation scale and an algorithm model of group
consumers' product preferences based on Kansei Engineering and scientific mathematics, to provide new sales ideas
and methods for retailers and markets online. Firstly, this study obtained the crucial Kansei word pairs (emotional
preferences) and colour design elements through interviews, literature, magazines and websites, word frequency
statistics, card sorting and cluster analysis. Then, researchers established a basic colour calculation scale of
cross-loading through Kansei Engineering and partial least squares (PLS). Finally, a recommendation set of products is
obtained using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), the weight of Kansei word pairs, and the distance calculation of
comprehensive evaluation value based on consumers' emotional needs. That is, this study obtained consumers'
aesthetic emotional preference for men's plain-colour shirts in China, colour design elements of shirts that are widely
recognized and accepted, basic colour calculation scales, recommendation preferences algorithms and models for
group consumers, and verified their effectiveness by PCA.
On the rise of China-chic, diverse trends have surfaced in the Hanfu development because of revivification and innovation. Understanding the perception and acceptance of potential users is vital for Hanfu development as it develops genuine confidence in their national identity and traditional culture. This study investigated and discussed the Kansei aspect of perception and acceptance of users in the appearance and structure of Hanfu. The study aims to grasp of characteristics of Kansei to identify the diverse style of Hanfu images to help designers understand the market needs of Hanfu products style and improve the attractiveness of a product. Two types of Hanfu were selected for evaluation. All data were gathered and analysed using semantic differential methods, descriptive statistics, factor analysis and hierarchical clustering analysis. Results revealed two kinds of Hanfu: S01 can be categorised as practical and modern traditional Hanfu images, whereas S02 represented original and adequate fashionable Hanfu images. Finally, this paper is the first empirical research in Hanfu using the Kansei engineering method from users' perception and acceptance.
