The purpose of this study was to determine the added value produced by the home sugar industry and to find out the internal factors and external factors that influence the business and to develop a strategy that is suitable with the conditions of home sugar indutry in Kebonsari District, Madiun Regency in developing its business so that it can contribute towards improving the welfare of the surrounding community. The analytical method used is the Hayami method to analyze added value and the SWOT method for developing strategies. Based on the research, it was found that there were 13 units of brown sugar business that developed in the District of Kebonsari, Madiun Regency. This agro-industry is classified as a labor-intensive business that is expected to be able to absorb the workforce around. The results of value added analysis show that sugar cane processing into brown sugar produces Rp. 1,051 per kg of sugar cane or a ratio of 58.28%. Profits obtained amounted to Rp. 546.00 or with a profit rate of 51.94%. Based on the added value and benefits obtained, the brown sugar agro-industry deserves to be developed because it provides benefits for the craftsmen. Based on internal and external factors, the strategy that is considered feasible to be applied to the sugar industry based agro-industry in the home industry in Kebonsari District is a concentration strategy through horizontal integration. This strategy aims to expand the business by increasing the amount of production and expanding the market by means of promotion. ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui nilai tambah yang dihasilkan home industry gula merah dan untuk mengetahui faktor internal dan faktor eksternal yang mempengaruhi usaha tersebut serta menyusun suatu strategi yang sesuai dengan kondisi home indutry gula merah di Kecamatan Kebonsari, Kabupaten Madiun dalam mengembangkan usahanya sehingga dapat berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat sekitar. Sweet potato is a local food that can reduce dependence on rice and flour consumption. It is the main source of carbohydrates, after rice, cassava, flour and corn. The benefits and potency of sweet potatoes as alternative food needs to be developed, especially in rural areas. However, sweet potato has not been considered as an important and high economic value commodity in Indonesia. Sweet potatoes have been used as food and non-food raw materials in developed countries i.e. noodles, fried sweet potatoes, desserts, confectionery, soy sauce, flour, wine, vinegar, nata de coco, bioethanol and others. Around 89 % of sweet potatoes in Indonesia are cultivated for providing food to rural communities, the rest are used for industrial raw materials and animal feed. The content of sweet potatoes includes carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals. Yellow/orange sweet potato is rich in beta-carotene and purple sweet potato contains anthocyanin (antioxidants). Sweet potato production is still limited to traditional food that is less attractive compared to flour products. Meanwhile, intermediate products have been developed including flour, instant flour, and starch that can be used as a substitute for flour in pastry products, wet cakes, breads, and noodles.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bauran pemasaran (4P), factor-faktor penghambat pemasaran serta strategi pemasaran yang efektif dan efisien dari produk olahan kunyit UMKM Retno Wangi. Teknik pengumpulan datanya dengan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analitis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keempat variabel bauran pemasaran (marketing mix) mempengaruhi pemasaran produk olahan kunyit yang dihasilkan oleh Retno Wangi. Selain itu, identifikasi bauran pemasaran dapat menunjukkan faktor-faktor yang menghambat pemasaran olahan kunyit sebanyak enam faktor dari internal dan empat faktor dari eksternal. Prioritas strategi yang terpilih adalah mengefektifkan promosi melalui media sosial (online) agar dapat menambah jangkauan pemasaran, bekerja sama dengan pemerintah setempat untuk mengurus cap halal, izin BPOM agar produk lebih terjamin kualitasnya, dan menambah reseller untuk agar produk lebih mudah ditemukan dimana-mana.
Tebu merupakan komoditi subsektor perkebuna yang menjadi sektor primer penyokong perekonomian di Indonesia. Masyarakat mengenal tanaman tebu (saccharum officinarum L.) sebagai tanaman yang menghasilkan bahan pangan pokok berupa gula. Daerah yang menghasilkan tebu di Indonesia dibagi menjadi Pulau Jawa, dan Pulau Luar Jawa. Salah satu daerah yang ada di Jawa yaitu Kabupaten Bantul Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1) Tingkat Pendapatan Usahatani Tebu 2) Kelayakan Usahatani Tebu di Kabupaten Bantul DIY. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik. Sampel diambil dengan cara simple random samping sebanyak 30 responden. Analisis yang digunakan menggunakan analisis pendapatan, analisis R/C rasio. Dari Hasil penelitian pendapatan usahatani tebu di Kabuptaen Bantul sebesar Rp 12.707.292 dengan nilai R/C rasio bernilai 1,28 yang berarti bahwa usahatani tebu layak diusahakan.
